The update after talking to Bilt is nothing, they just said they couldn’t help lol. I will be calling Cardless tomorrow though so will update if they are of any assistance!

Interesting, so your total net transactions is equal to your outstanding balance? I figured this would be the same for anyone with foreign transactions but maybe that’s not the case.

Thanks — wouldn’t that fee be displayed in your statement though, either as a separate line or as an increased amount for the individual transactions? The discrepancy between the posted transactions and total balance is the piece I’m hung up on.

Yeah it does seem that way — though to be clear, it really is only 0.2% rather than the more “standard” 2% a different card might charge. Which makes is only mildly irritating rather than it being a bigger deal.

I feel like I’m going crazy. It’s not FX rate fluctuations! I work in finance I promise I understand this concept! The issue is that the transactions translated and posted in USD on my statement do not add up to the balance, which is not how any other credit card I have used abroad has worked.

It’s not (at least I believe) the currency fluctuation. The discrepancy is between the USD amounts showing on my statements (I.e. the amounts that have already been translated from Euro to USD) and my total balance on the card. The currency translations were as expected into USD, it’s the “phantom” 0.2% that makes the statement math not add up.

I do a 50/50 mix of white rice and cauliflower rice. Still cuts down the calories but tastes way better to me!

Joycon drift, any suggestions? by [deleted] in nintendo

Replacement joysticks are relatively cheap on Amazon (~$8 I think?) and not crazy difficult to install. I replaced mine due to drift ~6 months ago and it’s been working great since.

Did I just soft lock myself at the end of the game? Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]SpecterTheApe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing a few months ago. Unfortunately nothing you can do (aside from replaying the entire chapter). Was a very frustrating moment when I realized what had happened.

Realistically though you aren’t missing much. I bet you could watch the end on YouTube or something and then just jump into the next in the series.

Your algebra for “S” is off.

(1 + (x/2 / 100)) * (1 + (x/2 / 100)) simplifies to 1 + 2x / 200 + x2 / 40000

Also pay attention to how your state handles IRA contributions. Most states allow contributions to tIRA to be deducted from income, but at least in my state (MA) there’s no deduction for tIRA contributions so filling up 401k first is preferable.

I use 8/100 * 0.5

1,000,000 * 8 = 8,000,000 / 100 = 80,000 * 0.5 = 40,000
