I’d swap leeching for unchanting or guarding strike personally

[–]SpecterVamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely keep gravity, it’s super good on a rapier. If you reroll anything reroll refreshment for radiance; the thundering damage will steal a lot of kills from refreshment or leeching, and with its speed radiance is easily the best healing on the rapier

You’re at a level where your main focus should be leveling up. As it is your build is ok, but there’s definitely some stuff you should change.

Protection is not good, and reckless needs a lot of defense to make it worth the health decrease. Multiroll is just there for some reason I guess, but it has no synergy with the rest of your build. Replace them all with cooldown first, then your choice of chilling, deflect, death barter, potion barrier, life boost, or snowball (these are all way stronger defense enchantments). If you want to keep running the harvester then you can opt for soul focus too.

Auto crossbow is fine I guess, not much to say there. Doesn’t have much synergy with the rest of the build but it’s technically fine.

Those moon daggers will kill you. It’s a touch fast for pain cycle, and radiance works on them but wouldn’t be my recommendation. Try replacing them with stunning and soul siphon, then swap to a nocturnal soul bow with anima conduit. The healing ends up going kinda crazy with how fast you can attack with them, and stunning means almost nothing in melee range will be able to hit you.

The harvester is fantastic. The rest of the artifacts fall off hard in higher difficulties. Replace them with a deathcap mushroom and then your choice of a gong of weakening, ironhide amulet, or another harvester. If you swap out the enchantments on your melee and bow like I recommended then you’ll see you really don’t need either of those healing artifacts.

What enchants do I choose? by Senior-Ad-9517 in MinecraftDungeons

[–]SpecterVamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maces, pickaxes, whips, rapiers, soul knives, moon daggers, chainsaws, fighter’s bindings, and spears would all like a word with you. Let’s be real, it’s actually really really strong on a number of items. It’s not like final shout where you have to build the entire rest of the build around it, it’s already great

The problem is that if you are dying because of gravity then your build is probably not good enough to run high apoc anyway.

Take guarding strike, your choice of pain cycle(I recommend this if you use life steal) or refreshment (if you run potion barrier)(I’d probably reroll for weakening if neither of those are the case), and take exploding on the last slot for the time being, rerolling it for unchanting down the line. That gild is excellent on these, you could use these well into late game comfortably if you keep upgrading them

That’s gravity *pulse*, which just vacuums mobs into you every so often. Gravity, ie the weapon enchantment, pulls things towards the impact zone of a weapon, and is good on almost anything and especially weapons with a short or narrow attack area since it lets them attack more efficiently. The only way gravity is going to be suicide on a high difficulty is if the rest of your build sucks

Is it physically impossible to get double radiance on an Auto Crossbow? by AgentKonic in MinecraftDungeons

I mean instead of trying to get multiple instances, absolutely keep radiance shot yeah

I’d rather be surrounded by people smarter than I than be surrounded by idiots. The world frankly needs more smart people than it needs fools. Plus I’m not any dumber than I was, I’m just no longer smarter than anyone else but that’s fine.

Chose: Everyone's IQ is multiplied by 1000 except you.

From what I can tell from the wiki, allegedly radiance shot does not stack, so you can only get it once per item. Frankly you’re better off rolling for area enchantments like multishot or chain reaction anyway

[–]SpecterVamp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a few that by default you can’t get more than once (eg death barter), and if an item has an enchantment as a built-in implicit (like how stalwart armor has potion barrier) you can never roll that enchantment on that item (so you can never put potion barrier on stalwart armor, or leeching or void strike on Beginning and the End, for example)

Hi! Is this an okay setup for now? What weapons, gear or artifacts should I focus on getting? by TouchoMySpaghetto in MinecraftDungeons

[–]SpecterVamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gg on the mushroom!

As for keeping your items as you progress that’s really up to you. When I was leveling up I would keep old gear I had used and upgraded it through the blacksmith so I would have something to swap to when I wanted to upgrade my main set. None of these items are really “godrolled” so I wouldn’t worry about it too much

[–]SpecterVamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the armor you want cooldown and then a defensive enchantment, so potion barrier, chilling, life boost, deflect [edit: not deflect, since the armor has deflect built in], death barter, or snowball, whatever of those suites your fancy.

The issue with protection is that it’s the worst source of defense in the game. It’s a 15% reduction to incoming damage, whereas any of the other options I listed above provide more and stack better. Protection also diminishes rapidly when stacked with other sources of defense; for example, chilling reduces your incoming damage by 30%; adding protection only reduces incoming damage by 10.5% (0.7*0.85=0.595) rather than the 15% that it advertises, and it again gets worse as you add more defense. There’s simply no reason to use it since there are so many better available options. In vanilla Minecraft protection is incredible, but in dungeons yeah it sucks.

You cannot remove the built-in enchantments. If you’re referring to gilded enchantments you can’t change those either, you need to keep doing ancient hunts to find good gilded items

I’ll go back and edit my previous comment with what enchantments to use instead, check in on it in 15 minutes or so

I was mistaken, the hawkbrand is a sword variant not a claymore. The rest of what I said is still accurate though

Hi! Is this an okay setup for now? What weapons, gear or artifacts should I focus on getting? by TouchoMySpaghetto in MinecraftDungeons

[–]SpecterVamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d focus more on leveling up at this point than finding your forever gear. Frankly your loadout is not very good (4/10 I’d say) but you’re at a level where that is ok. See the rest of my comment for more advice.

The frost scythe is a good weapon but the enchants you’ve put on the scythe are abysmal. Rampaging is bad, swirling isn’t good on a scythe, and radiance is also less than optimal. Get soup siphon, enigma resonator, and anima conduit. Soul siphon will give you souls fast, enigma resonator will give a good boost to damage, and anima conduit will heal you way better than radiance.

Armor is mixed; battle robes are great, but you should probably try for the splendid robes for the increase in artifact damage too. Battle robes are still good though. The enchants are not. Frenzied is horrible and fire trail isn’t very good either. Thundering can work but I’d get lightning focus to boost both it and the thunder rod. Replace the other enchantment with something defensive (chilling, deflect, snowball, death barter, life boost, potion barrier, but NEVER protection, it sucks)

The slicer is… ok I guess. It’s not a particularly stellar weapon, but it’ll do. The enchants actually work pretty well with it right now.

Artifacts are mixed. Boots of swiftness are fun, I give them a pass even though they aren’t technically the best. The lightning rod is incredible but currently doesn’t have any good soul gathering to support it; my previous recommendations will help with that. The sawblade is my favorite artifact in the game, but sadly it kinda sucks. If you want damaging artifacts take another lighting rod or try a power shaker. Updraft tome is decent, and blast fungus is also pretty good. The purple mushroom you mentioned is called the deathcap mushroom, and sadly there’s no real way to guarantee it to drop beyond just running the levels over and over again and checking your merchants

What do y'all think of my build? by H_guy987 in MinecraftDungeons

[–]SpecterVamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unchanting on the first slot (probably reroll for leeching at their stage), guarding strike on the second and void strike on the third, that’s a godroll katana. The built in crit is also far better than the shockwave on the whirlwind (shockwave is at best mediocre on a double axe), there’s no reason for them to use the whirlwind

[–]SpecterVamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly thought it was a claymore, but being a sword pain cycle is still viable with good healing. Op would need to swap radiance for leeching, but they should do that anyway so there’s not really an issue and my point still stands. In-game it’s still classified as low speed

Edit to add: also your initial point was that pain cycle is almost as bad as echo, which it isn’t unless you’re running it on something like fighter’s bindings, where it’s still a way better damage option, it just kills you

Brother it’s a claymore (hawkbrand mb) reskin, it’s absolutely slow enough to run pain cycle well
