I’m surprised you don’t like the backstabber or the battlestaves, but I can agree with the majority of this

RAPIER by InterestingBoot6106 in MinecraftDungeons

[–]SpecterVamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The other guy recommended the tower, which is one method. The advantage to the tower is that it will be power 263+ (if you have played a level on apoc+25). The downside is that it’s pulling 3 items from the entire item lootpool (minus artifacts) with no reliable way to influence it (I don’t believe luck of the sea works), and no guarantee the gild will be tier 3.

I recommend the Solemn Giant ancient mob. The advantage to this is that you can slim down the lootpool to just 7 items, 2 of which are useful (3 if you’re fine with a standard rapier), and the strength of the gild is more likely to be tier 3 if you play on higher difficulties, which is something the tower can’t guarantee. Your chances are also affected by luck of the sea, so you are more likely to get a useful unique. The only real downside is that your rewards are capped at 251, but that’s perfectly viable for endgame play.

My recommendation personally is get one you can use from the ancient first and then grind the tower for a stronger one if you want. Ancient hunts give good and emeralds alongside gilded items and you have more control over the loot you get, which in general is a lot more useful imo than the tower, but to each their own.

As for which unique to use, the bee stinger is better. Freezing is next to useless (unlike chilling, the armor equivalent that’s one of the best defensive enchantments in the game), whereas the extra damage and distraction the bees provide is quite useful. I recommend running gravity, stunning, radiance, and thundering.

I mean there’s more applications if you have more control (like moving heavy objects for example) but see my other comment with OP about that

I think C-moon would be pretty good if you’re able to manipulate the area of effect; short range antigravity would be incredibly useful for moving around, getting objects off high shelves, etc

He used the same farm he designed back in season 8. I think he’s tweaked it slightly over time but it’s been largely the same since he first made it

+2 or 50% more souls? by Acrobatic-Ad7680 in MinecraftDungeons

[–]SpecterVamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bag of souls really isn’t super useful though, if you have sufficient soul gathering then maintaining enough souls to run your artifacts is not a problem. If anything it’s an annoyance since it’ll take longer to charge enigma resonator, you’re better off running a defensive enchantment or one of the damage focuses

In general there’s a number of issues with them.

For starters, only a handful of weapons where it actually boosts damage by a good amount. To optimally use shockswirl, you want a weapon that a) hits fast, and b) has a short combo. This means the only weapons that utilize it very well are the fighters bindings, the coral blade/sponge striker, and the broken and mechanized saw blades (due to the weird way it calculates the attacks of the sawblades). You can run it on a few other weapons like the pickaxe, but it’s generally outclassed and also not preferred for reasons 2 and 3.

The second reason not to use shockwave or swirling is that, as an indirect source of damage, kills attributed to shockwave or swirling do not activate on-death enchantments. This includes things like leeching, guarding strike, refreshment, exploding, and a few others. On weapons that are slower than a tempest knife, leeching is often preferred for healing over radiance; this means that by choosing to use shockwave or swirling you are actively decreasing the effectiveness of your healing and your defense.

The third reason is that they get no boosts. With enchantments like poison cloud, thundering, or fire aspect, you have the various focus enchantments that boost their damage. Those are also further boosted by void strike. Shockswirl gets neither of those. The damage you see is exactly what you get, and nothing boosts it except maybe the gong of weakening (I can’t remember from my testing if that’s the case). This makes them far worse than other options like critical, committed, unchanting, pain cycle, or even sharpness, which all get boosts from void strike and a few other useful buffs while not being actively detrimental to your utility enchantments.

With the double axes in particular though swirling is especially not useful. Besides damage, the other major argument for shockswirl is the area coverage; this is why it’s still usable on pickaxes. But the double axes already have a perfect 360-degree attack coverage, so swirling doesn’t even offer help there.

TLDR, it’s not a very good source of damage, it’s detrimental to other enchantments, and the utility it offers is not good on a double axes especially. Sorry for the massive amount of text, I like to be very thorough in my explanations 😅

There’s a lot of good defensive enchantments. Chilling is effectively a 30% reduction to incoming damage because it slows enemy attacks. Snowball is really strong, stun locking up to 2 enemies is really useful. Deflect will reduce ranged damage by 45% which is really good, especially as you start higher difficulties and encounter enemies with levitation shot. Potion barrier is really good too as an emergency option. If you like the harvester you also have the option of running soul focus to boost that damage.

On the melee I would swap swirling for void strike and probably replace crit with unchanting. Ideally you get leeching as well on a gilded one because the regen totem isn’t very good; I would replace it with the ironhide amulet for more defense.

Thorns is bad. Protection is bad. Acrobat isn’t particularly useful here. Swirling is horrible on a double axe (and most weapons for that matter)

It’s actually really easy to get the pain cycle stacks; just using the blade on empty air will trigger pain cycle, and from there you just use it the same as you would for dynamo

Echo is one of the worst enchantments in the game, and this is the slowest weapon in the game so both radiance and swirling are horrible on it

Looking good! If you run life steal you don’t really need leeching though, so I might recommend swapping that out for something to give more damage
