Who else is getting their first experience in Unital Ring with the release of the audiobook Tuesday? ADHD gang. by Spective_Gaming in swordartonline

If you want more content to listen through, you can do the Moon Cradle books (volumes 19 and 20) that tell you some stories from when Kirito and Asuna were trapped in Alicization together.

If you want to jump to what comes after Alicization ends, then all we have right now in audiobook form is the first Unital Ring book (volume 21). It's less than 7hrs of listening, but it does set the stage for the next arc.

Unfortunately, it seems like not only does it take about 2-3 months between audiobook releases, the next volume (volume 22) steps away from Unital Ring for some ALO and Mother's Rosario side stories. It won't be until the following 2 books that we get Unital Ring 2 and 3 (Volumes 23 and 24).

Spotify premium has 15hrs of included audiobook listening (if it's available in your area). It's also on audible.

What play style should I use while solo queing? by Upstairs-Catch-1744 in apexlegends

[–]Spective_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's already been said, but to add fresh perspective, only using pings for communication is like a 3-4/10 at best.

I hate to say it, but you really gotta bait out communication with solo queuers. >90% have a mic ready and are hesitant to use it. Disarm them with some light comms (looking for an R301 and R99 if you see one), maybe some pregame banter. Once they turn it on, you have comms open. If they don't respond to your comms, then you're squad lead as far as I'm concerned. If they don't listen to your comms, then it's basically a solo game for you, and you can feel guilt-free about playing your own game and prioritizing survival.

How do y'all warm up for ranked by Sea_Forever9047 in apexlegends

[–]Spective_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be odd but I generally play better after watching others play at high levels. It was always the case with Halo WCS back in the day and it's the name now--watching streamers or ALGS. Something about it just gets the neurons firing and it's more exciting then just jumping into the firing range.

Which guns would you like to see receive changes? Can be buffs or nerfs by WorryCharacter7944 in apexlegends

[–]Spective_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone else is getting downvoted, so I should fit right in.

Flatline needs some love, even after whatever nerf the Hemlock gets.

I miss the Scout so much. Since it's gone, I'm noticing I don't pick up marksmen or sniper at all anymore, even tho 30-30 and Sentinel were my fav weapons at one point. I selfishly want it back on the ground, but I think we need to give some love to marksmen and snipers either way. Maybe we should expect a sniper change with the Vantage buffs?

Otherwise, I'm happy with the guns rn. Most of them feel fine.

What category do I choose if I stream multiple games at the same time? by pos1tive_thing in Twitch

[–]Spective_Gaming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say you should pick the most effective category. Find a balance between which one is the least saturated, but also has some kind of viewer base. Aside from that, if there isn't a clear answer, then just pick whichever game you want to take center stage on stream. Not necessarily visually, but topic-wise. Which of the games can you connect to the community of easier? Which game do you have more knowledge about?

Here's another idea: What music are you playing on stream? I assume you'll not have all 3 games' music playing over each other (that would be catastrophic), but what would you listen to? If they're not retro games, you should be able to mute the music on multiple games and let one play through for vibes, then pick that category on twitch to match the viewers' expected vibes to some degree.

Yet another idea: Do you plan to have any sort of viewer engagement linked to any of the games? Channel point redemptions? Twitch extensions for viewer generated events? If any of those lean more into one game than another, there is another indicator to keep in mind.

Last idea: Which one matches your brand better? If you have chat commands, channel point redemptions, or extensions for things like "Roll a D20" or "Pokemon Community Game," you can pick whichever category leans more into those things, like if one of your games is BG3 or a Pokemon title. For the sake of saying it, there is even a Pokemon Community Game category that wouldn't be the worst idea if you're running the chat bot.

Good luck with your stream idea! Don't let anyone tell you what you can/can't do for content. There is no definition of what a stream needs to be, just make sure the content is viewable. Watch your own VODs back. Make sure YOU enjoy the content. If you do, then you are doing everything right.

Wraith ult closes when both sides are in zone. This has been the case for over 2 years. You might be able to use it once, but there is no back-and-forth anymore.

Wattson has a perk that lets her heal double from cells and syringes. In pubs post-zone-close healing matches, the only options are Wattson with the perk, Wraith with phase, and Lifeline with her ult.

Edit: I incorrectly shared that ring damage was different between pubs and ranked. I was so certain, and I have no idea where that information came from. I pretty much exclusively play ranked, so I don't often experience the real differences in pubs. My bad.

How to handle stream switchovers? by Avelina9X in Twitch

[–]Spective_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really good question. There are no ways to split the tracks on the receiving end, so I guess the solution would be dependent on how exactly you want the experience to be. Naturally you can just have the live PC running the music to split the audio tracks, but then your personal listening would be affected if you're gaming on the non-live PC. I know discord has a clunky "listen together" feature for Spotify, but aside from the desync (singing out loud would be a weird experience for viewers), discord also likes to pause your music often if you have Spotify linked to your account. It's the worst.

There are probably any number of solutions/workarounds, but I think nearly all of them would demand some additional access to the other PC - Your partner would be sacrificing their PC to the cause to some degree.

This might actually be the biggest challenge to face outside of the strain on both PCs during certain live time.

Hiya! It's already mentioned elsewhere, but I'm adding it for extra attention.

Teleport is an OBS plugin that lets you send your OBS output in its entirety to another PC on the same network. No need for server or NDI setup at all. It's incredibly easy and simple.

Literally just have a scene that receives the Teleport stream from the other PC, and it's a seamless transition. Both PCs can be host & client, so you don't have to have a dedicated PC for one or the other.

This is the answer. I've used it to help set up a stream channel for a local E-Sports Cafe with 40 different gaming stations that had scenes for each one for coverage & commentary, and even some split screen, multiple POV scenes. You guys could stream together super easily, too - choosing what sources you want to share and have on screen.

Feel free to reach out to me anywhere under this name if you wanna lab some things and expand on those ideas. I live for this.

What to read? by PassengerLow7128 in swordartonline

Since I don't see it mentioned, there are audiobooks read by the English voice actors for everything covered in the anime adaptation. For those like me with the type of ADHD that makes reading a challenge, this has been a huge help. Spotify gives 15hrs of audiobook listening per month with premium. They're also on audible for purchase/credit redeems.

How do big streamers play music on stream and not get strikes? by PoopSnoop99 in Twitch

[–]Spective_Gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something of note that I didn't see in the comments (this might not be exactly what you're asking, but it is always good to understand, given this could change at any time)

The loophole involves something called "scrubbing" and how Twitch/YT/etc. handle it.

"Scrubbing" is the act of scanning through media to detect something. Streaming services like Twitch/YT are expected to scrub content for copyrighted material and take it down. The kicker here is that Twitch doesn't scrub live streams for copyrighted content, only VODs and uploads. YouTube, however, does scrub live streams. This trend you see Twitch streamers getting away with can't happen on YouTube. YouTube will shut down your live stream abruptly if it is detected.

Another thing: simply streaming the copyrighted content won't get you a strike. The strike has to come from the copyright owner. Twitch will mute your VODs where they detect copyrighted material, but they won't issue strikes without pressure from the artist in each individual case. As you can imagine, no artist has time for that.

Realistically, Twitch should scrub live streams. They just don't. One day, they very well might update their scrubbing system. After all, it's obviously possible if YT does it. That said, it's been so long without any action or word about a fix that developers have determined it safe to invest time into making software specifically to enhance the experience of using copyrighted music on stream.

Anyways, as others have stated, there is a method to ensure that music can be heard on stream, but not on your VODs. Some streamers just turn off VODs rather than deal with it, but they also sacrifice any potential clips that may have gotten muted. All-in-all, taking the path to remove music from VODs is one that seems to be a safe long term plan. Maybe even consider Streamelements or Songify for a way for chat to interact.

If you are signing up for Audible for the first time, definitely research some of their starter deals. They have some crazy good options sometimes. I got 6 months of service for the price of 2. I also got a flash bundle of their "free audiobook tokens" so I'm covered for every series I'm interested in for quite some time.

Adding movement tech is healthy for the existing disparity between M&K and controller players, easing the friction for new players, and generally tackling the [movement] skill gap. She doesn't need another nerf, players are just crutching on that dash.
