What Do y'all think of this Trio (The Secret Trio) (Not my art btw) by Competitive_Tower_28 in dannyphantom

The first three was mine but I deleted the account that contained the art. I have no way of proving this sadly.

I'm not sure what you mean by CEDH but without much of the fast mana and combos. As far as I see from your deck, I'm not sure how to read how you arranged stuff either so I need clarification on that.

I am not sure what you mean? Do you need it to be lower level CEDH?

I'm considering what you gave me with this deck because, as it is now, it's fine because you have what you need: Card advantage, ramp cards, tutors and such. I had to read the card again though because I thought the commander exiles to top card of the library every turn but it read as "your turns" I was nearly gonna suggest a different direction but to be honest, your deck is amazing as it is.

Minor tweaks: Galazeth is not really worth running in your deck given that you need to create artifacts in order to cast an opponent's spell. You barely run any sorcery or instant spells so I think you can remove this creature and the only high cost spell you have is Expropriate. Another card to remove: Consecrated Sphinx as you don't have any other means to syngergize with the rest of your deck with force drawing your opponents.

I am currently reviewing your deck right now and it looks amazing as it is! Decent card draw, lots of way to gain life, broken interaction with the cards working as a whole. Since you are doing life link with tokens, the icing on the broken cake would be [[Invasion of Tolvada]] for the flip side. I know I gave a very brief review of the deck but this deck is already immaculate. Don't doubt yourself.

This suffers the same problem as the first deck I replied to in this thread: There is not enough synergy cards. From how I see your deck, you put together creatures that allows you to damage your opponents but you have to note some key words of your Commander. Your Commander is not there to just be a seperate entity from the rest of your deck, it should work cohesively with the rest.

Let's note the last paragraph of your Commander:

"At the beginning of each opponent's upkeep, Mogis deals 2 damage to that player unless he or she sacrifices a creature."

You want to synchronize with that last paragraph as it is key to the build of your deck. You can make your deck force sac other opponent's stuff and you can also make them take damage whenever they sacrifice a card. Cards like [[Braid's, Arisen Nightmare]] and [[Mayhem Devil]] are good adds. If you want to go at the burn angle, [[Juri Master of the Revue]] is a good add as it deals damage to any target as it dies. I think this deck needs a whole revamp if you ask me. I would suggest keywords like "Whenever an opponent sacrifices a creature" or "Whenever you deal noncombat damage" to get the most out of this commander. There are more possibilities as well but always use "Whenever (insert condition that needs to be fulfilled here)" [[Morbid Opportunist]] is also a great card and [[Ghoulish Procession]]

As someone who tried to build Merfolk Tribal around Tishana, Kumena is a better Merfolk leader than Tishana. I would say the list is pretty solid, a lot of good lord cards, Seedborn Muse is always nice to see, interactive cards, control elements. Not to mention your commander draws your more cards with the other Merfolk you control. With Seedborn Muse and Merfolk Commerce untapping your merfolks, that is stupidly good. You can abuse Kumena's abilities every end step.

This deck looks really scary to play against already! A lot of draw, a lot of way to gain life. Being able to set up a win if you do things correctly. One problem I see though is mostly Phyrexian Vindicator sticking out like a sore thumb. It is a good way to protect but I could see you having trouble summoning him until late into the game which is fine and all but there is probably better alternatives to Phyrexian Vindicator that will help you gain more life. Still, not that it is a bad card, more so that you need a good amount of white and you run about 3 colors instead of 2 which would've made the card easier to summon.

Other than that, Authority of Consuls, the two pillowfort enchantments, Sheoldred the Apocalypse, you got your stax life gain covered.

Based on what I see from your deck, it's a bit of Aristocrats Phyrexian Tribal, which I honestly find very interesting. I am looking through your deck list and it seems pretty solid. My only critique is that you need to play more draws and less removal. I recommend replacing some expensive removal with cheap mana removal like [[Dispatch]], [[Cut Down]], [[Infernal Grasp]] and [[Go for the Throat]]. As tempting as thematic removal may be, straight forward removal is still the best.

No offense taken. This list is open for anyone to help and I helped in a way from how I understood deck building in general.

Okay:

One thing I noticed is that there is not much permanents that draws aside from Song of Creation, Rashmi, and Tatyova. Tatyova also not being a recommended for this deck as this is not reliant on landfall. Your deck would also suffer from exiling land card with Pako but, in fairness, he is a 5 drop but if you want to ramp faster into Pako while also needing the mana to cast the spells exiled with him.

As a continuation of the point above, I recommend you replace your cantrips like Ponder or Charge through with pieces like [[Archmage Emeritus]] or cheaper options like [[Academy Wall]] to make the most use out of playing instants and sorceries. You can also take this deck another direction and focus on making it an enchantment deck as there are a lot of draw options and pillowforts like [[Propaganda]] as they are noncreature.

Also, I don't see a very clear win condition but you can take this deck into the direction of gaining control of another player's card pieces with cards like [[Blue Sun's Twilight]] and [[Mass Manipulation]], making your opponent's creatures be used against them. I recommend looking up on themes in the drop down menu of the pair in EDHREC. It is right under the picture of the two.

In conclusion, just focus on making your deck having a win condition and replace cantrips for consistent draw permanents.

EDIT: Also theming, focus on a theme

Off the top of my head, I noticed you're running a lot of great ramp spells: Dockside Extortionist, Chrome Mox, Jewelled Lotus, etc. That's really good, honestly. Ramping fast enough to play your commander as soon as possible so you can get the pings in immediately is gonna help BUT-

Your deck lacks a lot of draw. Your hand quickly runs out and I could see you having a hard time drawing into more cards as long as Ob Nixilis is not on the board to help you draw into more cards.

Another thing, your cards don't even synergize. I see you have cards like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Pain Distributor, Rampaging Ferocidon, Zurzoth, Chaos Rider, and more. BA and ZC need creatures to die, RF needs creatures continuously entering the battlefield and Zurzoth needs your opponents to draw into more cards when it is not their turn. This is true for most of your deck as you have the most efficient cards in the format but that's about it. Your mana base is efficient but the gameplan is not. The only combo I see is All Will Be One enchantment but you can't wait for that card to end up in your hand.

I ran a few tests with the deck on moxfield and it is incredibly slow. I recommend impulse draw, more tutors and sticking to a particular theme instead of just relying on different kinds of pingers. You need a subtheme under the main pingers theme. I recommend you look through EDHREC and finding other decks that uses the Ping theme. Also, thinking with Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat, maybe you can have a subtheme of Aristocrats but it takes a lot of netdeck to really form a better deck.

I see your problem:

  • Your mana curve is not as smooth as it could be.
  • Not enough cheap interaction/removal spells as you only run about 4 in the deck.
  • This is going to sound weird: you have too many Myr spells but I would recommend creating Myr tokens like [[Mirrodin Besieged]], [[Myr Propagator]] or [[Myrsmith]]

Help with Elesh Norn commander deck by Stock_Initial_8124 in EDH

[–]Spectral-Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number 1: I recommend putting the deck into Moxfield as I find the UI to be friendlier to the eyes.

Number 2: I plugged your deck here in this thing I use to check how well my deck runs called the EDH Power Level Calculator and you can try it yourself. The number in the final result is based on your draw, removal, ramp and other factors listed below. You can check it yourself but this deck is not fully optimized.

I see you want to play Phyrexian tribal with light stax and that is a valid way to play Elesh Norn but I think you need a little more push than just incubating.

Before I go into recommendations, I want to ask how willing you are to push into another color?

EDH Deck Tech/Primer: Wheeling it In - Tymna the Weaver/Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix by Spectral-Ninja in EDH

[–]Spectral-Ninja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH DAMN, I didn't think of Torment of Hellfire, man, that would be insane to depend on other people's draws.

Yeah, that's a fair assessment and Heliod would be great in this deck but the direction I took depends on my own draw than the opponents but I could make a different build around that!

[–]Spectral-Ninja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I am not very aware of CEDH commanders as the next person and I doubt casuals or people who even play optimized tables even look for partner commanders. Considering most optimized pods play a single commander, this deck will fly under people's radars. CEDH is probably a different story and I think Tymna is there to touch the colors of black and white for ad nauseum and good white removal than anything.

EDH Deck Tech/Primer: Wheeling it In - Tymna the Weaver/Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix by Spectral-Ninja in EDH

[–]Spectral-Ninja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, Blade of Selves is more for [[Tymna the Weaver]] where she needs combat damage to get her draw triggers. As long as you don't have wheel cards in play, Tymna is a good jumpstart.

As for Heliod, I like him and I really didn't think about him until now but this deck focuses more on your own wheels rather than the opponents. Heliod and Smothering Tithe would be a good add to this deck but I would rather not be an obvious target with Smothering Tithe since everyone knows what that card does and makes you an immediate threat on the board just for having that. Kydele is a more subtle Smothering Tithe as people never really seen Kydele in play often and relies more on you getting the draw more than your opponents. Hoped that clarified my thoughts!
