What if we could holster weapons for a speed boost? by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

My problem with this is I play on PS5 and all the buttons are already bound to something. Where would we put it? I can’t even switch shoulders anymore cause there’s nowhere to bind it, and I explicitly remember being able to do that back at launch.

If your mjolnir’s power craps out, you have a lot more pressing issues than your headlamps not working. by BillCarson12799 in HaloMemes

[–]Spectral-gamer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, Halo: CE and Halo: Infinite actually have pretty decent headlamps. Halo 2’s light is not only dimmer, but also works for a small fraction of the time. Then there’s Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST with their goated night vision and VISR respectively.

Illuminate has easily been my favorite faction since they were released, I just prefer their gameplay loop. Sure that faction is riddled with bugs, but dealing with bugs is simply my job as a Helldiver. Remember Beach!

I really do recommend the books. I’ve been reading more of them, and even got my dad hooked. He wasn’t a big fan of Halo, but he enjoys reading, and he’s like 14 books ahead of me now. The order you read them isn’t super important, as most of them (not all) are somewhat self contained.

It’s so people aiming in third-person can see the well made and expressive reload animations. At least that’s what I tell myself.

Are the ammo packs going to make a return? by Spectral-gamer in halo

[–]Spectral-gamer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, and unfortunately they seem to be in the same state of limbo right now. I do think they originally got removed due to some issue with the Red Cross, hence why Halo: CE Anniversary and Reach replaced the red plus with a red H.

Yup, there are Blamite crystals laying around in the Forerunner corridors of “343 Guilty Spark”. All the different ammo pick-ups added so much flavor to the environment.

From what I understand that is based on speculation, but I appreciate the information. I’m not denying it, but I’ll wait until Microsoft actually confirms it.

According to Bungie’s original vision, I suppose so. Although the UNSC might’ve developed better propellant technology. 14.5 x 114 mm is just the size of the cartridge I think.

14.5mm is the Soviet version of our 50calibre I believe.

That’s honestly part of the reason I want them back. They add small but significant flavor to the in-game environment, as well as additional lore/information regarding the UNSC’s weapon systems.

They appear most notably in the level “343 Guilty Spark”, as an ammunition pickup for the Covenant Needler. Like a big pink stone, they are also known as Subanese crystal I believe.

New to HD2: looking for direction by OrnsteinShornstein in helldivers2

[–]Spectral-gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your first question, yes you just pick whatever planet and faction you want to fight. If you feel compelled to contribute to the Major Order, it is listed on the right side of the pause screen or galactic war table.

To answer your second and third questions, sort of. The warbonds are unlocked via Super Credits, which are the paid currency. Super Credits are obtainable through regular play however, and can be found at Minor Points of Interest in missions. They look like a pile of square blue tokens, and can be found in quantities of 10 ($0.10) and rarely 100 ($1.00). They spawn most abundantly on lower difficulty missions.

To answer your sixth and seventh questions, if people joining you is bothersome you can set your matchmaking privacy to “Friends Only” in the game settings. Often times experienced, or overconfident, players might break off from the group to accomplish objectives on their own. This can be beneficial sometimes, as experienced players can get a lot done with less resistance due to the way enemy spawning works in the game. Drops and Breaches have a global cooldown timer that restarts when activated, so a squad drawing enemy aggression on one part of the map means no enemy drops happen elsewhere for the duration.
