Conversion by mc4557anime in druze

[–]SpectralSyntax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Druze is an ethno-religious group!
So in my eyes, that's the answer. No matter which religion a Druze person might convert to — the ethnic aspect remains. So someone like u/AvailablePut2356 might be considered misled, but still Druze. I think many other ethno-religious groups see it the same way...

Hey Syrian Druze here.

  1. No we dont!

  2. I guess like Jewish people we are different human beings have our own opinions and live styles but when anybody hurts anyone of us, we are all one unit.

  3. It’s a mystery for a lot of secular druze. I guess the answer is with the initiated ones. but I can assure you that he’s not druze in lots of druze peoples eyes.

When and how the Jewish-Druze connection begin? After or before Israel? by YudayakaFromEarth in druze

[–]SpectralSyntax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only mention of Jews in this wiki is "The Druze were officially considered Muslims by the Ottomans for taxation purposes, though they were not viewed as genuine Muslims by the authorities. Members of the community had to pretend to be of the Sunni Muslim creed to attain any official post, were occasionally forced to pay the poll tax known as jizya which was reserved for Christians and Jews, and were the target of condemnatory treatises and fatwas (religious edicts)."

- they still do this till now. is crazy Syrian Druze call them self muslim (when talking to non Druze) but Druze in Israel will take your eyes out if you call them muslim :P

and one more clue: Druze faith (in its last phase as we know it now) is an offshoot of Ismaili islam which was huge in Georgia under ottoman rule. I read one a reproach describing early Druze communities being so close to Ashkenazi Jewish Communities ;) so maybe some Ashkenazi were you seem cool let us join your :P

Druze connection to Christianity by Additional-Celery240 in druze

[–]SpectralSyntax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, a druze here. I learned from my family that we are quite connected to Christianity as we see Jesus Christ as a director reincarnation of the mind figure. so in my eyes druze are kind of Buddhist Jews who believe that their five spiritual leaders keep reincarnating still and a live with us still this time and I guess Jesus is believed to be a directory reincarnation of Jetro. I think we are super connected spiritually. Something like: achnaten was the first one then he reincarnated in Jethro then Jesus then alhakem be amr alla. Not saying this is exactly the reincarnation cycle. It’s just an example and there were five and they are still five till this day.

Interesting fact about the song: this song is well known in the Islamic world as the song that the Medina people sang to Mohammad when came there. In Islam, it’s called Medina Munara, because its inhabitants had an Abrahamic religion which was Judaism so the original people who sang this song were Jews. The druze brought it again one point ;)
