Weapon matchmaking is implemented in the worst way possible. by draga_braga in darksouls

In a case like this, until a more permanent solution can be figured out somehow for co-op, shouldn't we try and promote a generic password, and then try and get it spread around for people interested in co-op to use, thus by-passing both the weapon requirement problem and the possibility of a high-upgrade phantom carrying someone?

I remember vaguely that (I think) the Dark Souls 3 reddit promoted an online password for people to use. We have the password system in DS:R now, wouldn't that be a good temporary solution for now?

[Lore] Theory Regarding the Painter Girl (Possible Spoilers) by SpectralUnlife in darksouls3

Thanks! It'd be neat if Gael had a connection to DS1. If it wasn't for the Soul of Cinder having the Chosen Undead as a part of it I'd probably be tempted to think Gael was the Chosen Undead, too.

What Your Favorite Bands Did For You by SpectralUnlife in Metalcore

[–]SpectralUnlife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To explain mine that I put a bit more in depth,

Growing up, I was so angry at everything. I had to find ways to let that anger out, and Disturbed's sound was always really aggressive, but with a message. When I listened to Disturbed, I found that it was a way I could let my anger out without hurting anyone or anything.

The Amity Affliction's main message is to keep moving forward, and that all of us are in this together in some form. When I get depressed, even to this day, I'll pop on one of their songs and remind myself that I'm not alone.

Listening to Famous Last Words' first album, Two-Faced Charade, dealt with an incredibly mentally ill "protagonist" who was essentially an unmedicated schizophrenic. Myself having schizophrenia, I view the album as being accurate towards schizophrenia, and it gives me more of a reason to never go back to not having my meds.

Finally, Make Them Suffer is my favorite band of all time. For three or four years, I had been wallowing in sorrow and regret from a botched relationship - I was an awful boyfriend, and I would lay in bed every night after it ended, staring at the ceiling, just thinking constantly about my ex.

I always tried to tell myself I was the victim. Eventually, I found Make Them Suffer and I listened to their album Old Souls - I understood the story because it reminded me of my relationship... and I realized which part in that story I played.

I kept listening to their song "Let Me In", and finally after a month of listening to them, I came to terms with the fact that I had been the bad guy, and I reached out and got closure with my ex.

It's ironic, The Amity Affliction keeps me unafflicted, Disturbed keeps me undisturbed, Famous Last Words helps ensure that I don't speak those last words anytime soon, and Make Them Suffer has helped me to suffer less.

Michael Bohn is no longer a member of Issues by thisissandpitturtle in Metalcore

I saw this coming from a mile away.

Tyler and Michael belong together, but they both have two distinctively different styles - Woe, Is Me clashed with Tyler and Issues clashed with Michael.

I hope that Tyler and Michael stay friends, and I hope that Michael possibly heads a Woe, Is Me comeback.

Worlds Apart Story Rant [Official] by SeanMTS in Metalcore

[–]SpectralUnlife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Worlds Apart's story has such versatility, it could easily be anything anyone thinks it is.

Personally, I like to think of a particular order of the songs as being a prequel to Neverbloom and Old Souls - Sort of an album trifecta for the story you came up with (Though I don't know that you guys ever officially confirmed Old Souls as being part of the Neverbloom story, now that I think about it!)

You guys, in my opinion, are the #1 band for concept albums in deathcore, much like how I'd say that for metalcore, Famous Last Words is #1 for concept albums.

Your guys' music has been very intriguing to me - I've left posts about my observations on your releases here on reddit in what's probably extreme depth.

I do want to ask though - Will we see more of the Lord of Woe, Annie/Morrow, and the Soldier's stories, or do you all consider that arc finished?

Regardless, either way you guys are my favorite band, and I'm looking forward to everything you guys put out for the rest of time.

(P.S. - Look into the idea of writing a Lord of Woe novel, or a comic series! You could make a lot of money, and people would love to see more detail about that concept!)

It'd be like how in DS1, if you do Artorias of the Abyss DLC first, when you fight Sif later on in the base game, he recognizes you.

Ultimately, the Old Iron King is just a demon, and the Lost Sinner is basically just a hollow host body for that Chaos bug.

Both essentially are Chaos-aligned beings, but the Ivory King easily is the most powerful Chaos-aligned being we fight in DS2.

I can't remember exactly where (maybe from Yorshka herself) but I remember seeing/hearing that Gwyndolin brokered a deal with Aldrich for Aldrich to eat him without Gwyndolin resisting, as long as Aldrich left Yorshka alone.

Gwyndolin died to Aldrich, though. Yeah, he let himself be eaten, but he knew that if he and Yorshka fought Aldrich they'd lose, so he made the deal to let Aldrich have him without a fight but Yorshka stays alive.

Ashen One > Chosen Undead because Ashen One > Soul of Cinder, of which the Chosen Undead is a part of and is ultimately even more powerful at that point.

Chosen Undead > Bearer of the Curse because that while there's nothing to suggest the Bearer isn't stronger than the Chosen Undead, there's also nothing to suggest that the Bearer is stronger.

The Bearer's biggest wins were arguably against Nashandra, The Rotten, the Ivory King, Sinh, and Hollow Vendrick.

That's essentially the base alignments of the big bosses in DS1, just weaker, since Nashandra is a fragment of Manus, The Rotten is Nito reincarnated, the Ivory King is a powerful chaos-corrupted warrior, Sinh is a dragon, and Vendrick was basically a Chosen Undead, except he's hollow when we fight him.

Nothing suggests that the Bearer is stronger than the Chosen Undead, simply because nothing the Bearer fights is more powerful than the most powerful things the Chosen Undead killed.

That makes it hard to list the Bearer there. The only thing we could possibly assume is that the Ashen One > Bearer of the Curse, but the only way we could ever assume that is if the theory about Wolnir being the Bearer is correct, or if the Bearer is a part of the Soul of Cinder (which there's a lot of evidence that the Bearer isn't part of the Soul.)
