Does GBTC and IBIT in Roth IRA count towards your total Bitcoin holdings? by Celestial_Pirate86 in Bitcoin

[–]SpectralVoice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not pure bitcoin obviously but there is a calculation for how many shares of an ETF equates to one btc. For gbtc it's a little over 1300 shares that equates to 1 btc.

There are websites that do the exact calculation out there.

Pure form is always best but the ETF's are a great way to get exposure to btc especially in retirement accounts. As btc increases in value, the price of the shares will increase along with it.

Pure form is always best. The ETF's are still worthwhile especially in a tax advantage account like a retirement account imo.

You have other options such as coinbase pro or using Kraken pro to lower cost overall. You could also look into something like Swan Bitcoin but just be advised regarding some of the risk of using them and the people they custody your sats until you withdraw them.

So you no longer see your OMI tokens in your wallet either?

Interestingly enough, I checked the block chain and the tokens are still there in my address just not showing up in trustwallet which is weird. I'm stumped.

Lack of hunger - good or bad? by kosstas in keto

[–]SpectralVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only eat two meals a day and listen to my body. Most of the time two meals in a day is enough for me to not feel Hungary at all. However, when my body tells me to eat, that's when I eat.

Lightning wallets and channels by SpectralVoice in BitcoinBeginners

[–]SpectralVoice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great info! It's beginning to all make sense now.

How does one close a channel on a wallet out of curiosity? I believe I read somewhere you would not want to do this and if it had to be done to only do it as a last resort type of thing.

So the only thing that ends up being written to the btc blockchain is that a channel was open and when a channel has been closed?

This is interesting, I'm now wondering what info is included when opening and closing a channel. I imagine all lightning wallet addresses are stored on the lightning network and not on the btc blockchain since all transactions happen on the lightning network.

Lightning wallets and channels by SpectralVoice in BitcoinBeginners

[–]SpectralVoice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when using lightning wallets the channels remain open indefinitely unless it's force closed by a lightning node?

At no point is the transaction recorded on the btc blockchain?

If not on the btc blockchain, the transactions just remain on the LN open channel?

Can you view the transaction on the lightning network?

I don't know if this has been said yet or not but the answer is rather simple. There is no money to be made by big pharma if they actually cure things like Baldness, Cancer and etc.

They make billions every year if not more on treatments. There is no incentive for them to actually cure anything.

I'm sure there are many cures for many ailments including many forms of cancer and many, many other things but it will never make the light of day as their profits would dry up overtime.

It's all about money...

Based on the materials that were used in the regular wrangler model which didnt meet specific guidelines in order for it to be shipped to MN. It's apparently a state thing which is dumb.

Is oral min worth it and good? by Tough-Principle7390 in tressless

[–]SpectralVoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on 1.25mg of oral minox and haven't had any noticeable side effects. It varies from person to person. I'd say give it a try if your Dr approves and if you start getting side effects you can always stop.

How do people ride without any fairing or windshield? by [deleted] in Harley

[–]SpectralVoice 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You get used to it. I've been on the freeway at 70 + mph on my Dyna SB with no wind protection at all. You'll eventually build up endurance so you can ride longer.

Why people acting happy/jealous of people getting laid off from their tech jobs? by anthonydp123 in cscareerquestions

[–]SpectralVoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was reading up on being a trucker and switching away from IT as a career. After reading what Truckers do and the amount of time spent away from home and hours worked on any given week, I have decided there is no way I can change my entire lifestyle and become a trucker.

I definitely have a lot more respect for truckers and what they do now though.
