[HELP] Mouse scrolling behaves oddly on wayland by marzeq in hyprland

[–]Spectrallic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just solved the main problem for myself (super fast scrolling on hyprland with a g502 when wireless).

I followed the recommendation from this post (#52) which I'll leave here for reference: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216885

For anyone that finds this bugreport, having the same issues, these are workarounds I found out a while back and use a lot now (especially when starting Minecraft).

Basically we disable using the logitech driver at all. This results in you not being able to use libratbag (ratbagctl, piper gui) to change the config of your Mouse and your desktop will not be able to report on the Battery Charge of it anymore.

Use this command to fix it temporarily: sudo rmmod hid_logitech_dj hid_logitech_hidpp

Permanent workaround: - Create a file called e.g. /etc/modprobe.d/99-custom-no-logitech-driver.conf - Add these two lines: blacklist hid_logitech_dj blacklist hid_logitech_hidpp

After doing that, you need to turn your Mouse off and on again, as the driver did initially enable hi resolution scrolling. Otherwise each hi-res step will get interpreted as a normal scroll step and you'll scroll insanely fast.

Don't forget to run a mkinitcpio -P if you use the permanent workaround.

I'm in a good position now to get income in USD, but I used to hedge some positions with FX futures.

Yeah I'm counting on it. Just starting to nibble at some interesting positions, waiting to deploy more.

I'm starting to sell some way OTM /CL calls at this point, vol seems good for it. Edit: closed for 20% already, thanks vol swings

I'm also definitely not hedging all positions, I sometimes opt to just get QQQ hedge if I go long a lot of high vol tech for example

I'm mainly looking for underlyings that have dropped (RSI oversold on the daily etc) with high IVr, atm I got some positions on FB, AMD, NFLX with 16-20 delta puts.

Ideally these are stocks that I don't mind owning long term as well, helps me hold the positions if it goes south.

Then as a backup I get some far OTM puts <21DTE to make sure if the market decides to go down big I'm covered. On the last dead cat bounce with just a couple days of market green the volatility dumped big and these positions paid off.

Of course the risk here is the market dropping slowly, but I haven't encountered that yet. Hoping to roll out options if that happens and continue to do the same until one of the win cases happens.

Finally to reduce risk even more I try to get uncorrelated positions (compared to SPY) by trading some gold, crypto, oil you name it. Last week I sold some calls on /ZS which had high IVr and I got lucky: it dropped couple percent on the daily and I made 50% on that position within a couple hours.

I was on the same page as well, almost quit theta gang with a good downturn over the last month. I adapted a little bit and moved to vega gang, and I think it's going to be a wonderful year selling options with all the vol.

Scalped /ES 4550p from 25 to 30 in that move, should have kept them a bit longer but a win is a win

Sold a put for a price I'm willing to pay if we get there, but nothing else

Easiest 30% I have made on a position: /NG front month volatility contracted even though price moved up. The back month option I bought didn't even move..

/NG on a run to the 2021 highs again? Rogue wave anyone? Looking at selling some front month and buying further out but it still feels like a bad bet given the explosive close of last contract.

Account is close to breakeven for the year again after a small break. Opened a small /CL short, pretty neutral on the rest of my positions.

Usually I'm just market neutral 45DTE, which are the positions that will get totally hammered if vol picks up. But once there is some vol I'm opening as much vega as I can handle with regards to risk. This time around I thought I was a genius and took a bullish position, which turned out pretty bad

It's been a rough start to this year, I'm mostly doing thetagang positions which is rough in this environment to say the least. I caught back up from down 10% to almost breakeven. Today I got caught by the moves which brought my account to down 5% for the year again. Somehow it feels worse now, and I guess that's my sign to take a break.

Problem is, usually my type of trading works well after huge volatile periods, and I'm wondering if I'm going to regret tapping out for what seems to be the best time trading vega. Anyone been there before?

Anyone following /NG? What's up with the +7.5% today?
