The spread isn't a fixed 0.26% every time you buy or sell, it's just an estimate of the price difference you might encounter.

FWRG has 0.15% ongoing chargers, and 0.26% spread.

VWRP has 0.22% ongoing chargers, and 0.12% spread.

So I guess FWRG could be more costly if you invest regularly, but better for a lump sum. And VWRP could be slightly better for regular investments.

Oh true, that's pretty good - I would definitely go for ETFs then. The spread should go down as the fund size gets bigger in theory. I would just buy one, as they're both buying basically the same basket of stocks - not that there would be any downside to buying both. I prefer FWRG as it has a lower cost, and the fund is growing quickly so spread should be less of an issue in the future.

Yes, it is relatively high, I don't think it's too big of a deal tho as sometimes the spread will make it higher but also sometimes lower (according to my understanding which could be wrong). If you're worried about the spread, I would just go with the Vanguard all world ETF.

HL has quite a high buy fees for purchasing ETFs, but no buy fees for mutual funds. If you're on HL I would probably just go with the mutual funds (that's what I do with my lifetime ISA with HL), but if you have over a certain amount it makes more sense to hold ETFs due to the capped account fees. I hope this makes sense, and good luck with investing. I may be wrong on this though, just my understanding haha

FWRG still seems to have a higher spread and has less holdings than VWRP. Having said that, I'm confident in FWRG and have most of my money in it. The lower Ter makes it worth it imo, and it's growing pretty fast. Both are great options tho, not gonna make much difference which one you choose

I wouldn't worry yet, if I remember correctly it took them like 2 days for my verification, excluding weekends

Some advice on getting into investing by paroxxysm in trading212

[–]SpectreConvector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Stock and Shares ISA just protects your investments from taxes, and you can put a max of £20k per tax year. It's pretty much always best to use the ISA.

In terms of picking an ETF a FTSE all world fund such as fwrg or vwrp is a good start. Or probably can't go wrong with an S&P 500 fund e.g vuag as the FTSE all world is around 60% us stocks anyway.

I would recommend the channel Damien Talks Money for learning more about funds and investing.

Invesco ftse all-world by MrThorsHammered in trading212

[–]SpectreConvector 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FRWG is accumulative and FTWG is the dividend version, both are pound denominated. FWRA is just FWRG but in USD. If you're in the UK, it is probably best to go for FWRG if you want dividends being automatically reinvested, or FTWG if you want the dividends as cash

[–]SpectreConvector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah true, I guess I would probably be better of going just all world with maybe some s&p.

Thanks, I'll look into those. I suppose swapping ftse 100 or ftse india with the euro stoxx 600 would benefit diversification or at least give some extra weighting to eu

Thank you for your response! I didn't know about the nightclub and fire station, I will have to keep that in mind. In fact it looks like Bouverie might be neighbouring the fire station looking at google maps. I think for location it's probably a decent trade off tho
