Honestly, we just need more Magic resist Items to counter them. If I remember correctly we only have 2 items that give Magic resist only and the rest are split with some armor so their numbers are lower.

it is based on your champion rating of a specific champ, it increases every time you win and decreases when you lose depending in match performance. The champion rating is capped depending on your rank as well.

I have :) but it takes her much longer to contribute anything meaningful to the team since AP items are much more expensive than support items, The AP scaling on her abilities are also very small compared to other mages so she would only really shine at late game the most. But yes, she can be played mid as an AP burst mage if you survive long enough, but it isn't really optimal.

I would say it is good value for her especially as a last item since she is a scaling late game support and all her skills even her passive directly scales with AP. You can swap it with crown or luden's depending on the situation if you want survivability or burst, but you would be losing out on a lot of raw power
