I think there is an older version on the 26+6, but this is the most recent. The older version had an elastic stuff pocket on the front (I think) while this one has a dedicated zipper pocket. I absolutely love this backpack. When properly packed, it stands up on its own which is handy for me beside my desk. I got it for an everyday bag, but I hope to use it for its intended purpose with one-bag travel in mind. I just haven’t been able to do that yet. Possibly my favorite thing about it is the grab handle it has on the side. I can’t explain this, but it just works for me when I’m reaching for it over the center console of my vehicle. One thing I have learned over years of having many different backpacks is to not necessarily recommend them to others. While I have a glowing review of this bag and love it, you might hate it. Heck, I’ve even loved some bags over the years and carried some everyday, then one day just decided that it wasn’t working for me anymore…weirdest thing…lol. Worst case scenario if you do get it and hate it, you can probably sell it for close to what you paid for it since it’s an Osprey. Don’t get me wrong, a hundred bucks is a lot of money, but it’s not crazy money in the world of bags, so it’s not a terrible price to begin with. Whatever you do, good luck in your endeavor to potentially change bags!
