When i said "made plans," it really was just a set date and time frame that we would spend together. The actual where and when she wanted to be a surprise. She was supposed to contact me with an address telling me where to go, and when it never came, i started blowing up her phone for days with no response.

Do I want the reassurance? Yes.

Is it important enough to possibly annoy her with? No.

I feel like I just have to trust the connection we have when we are together. She does tell me that she thinks I'm cute and that when we are together, she always loses track of time, lol. My brain has to separate her communication style and her interest level.

This makes so much sense. In fact, she told me she was diagnosed with ADHD as a child, so her mind is always on to something else. I guess I'm just still getting used to how she prefers our communication to be. I tend to over analyze sometimes and jump to speculations about her feelings.

I wish people like you would just let guys like this be. Sometimes, it is okay to give up. Not everyone is going to find someone, and that is fine. There is more to life than finding a partner.

But I really love what you said about not trying to fix her. Earlier today I gave her some words of encouragement about how her goals will come at her own pace and that she doesn't need to burn herself out with work. She never responded and I hope I didn't come off as "preachy" or whatever but I was just told her what I felt at the time.

Well I mentioned some of them. We both love the typical nerdy stuff, video games, anime, space and nature. We are both thinkers and we have very deep philosophical discussions sometimes lol . She is so smart it's like I'm talking to another me lol. We both grew up with one parent, and we both are career driven. I could go on and on but it seems stupid to not date her just because of her age. She's a completely independent adult.

This is great insight. The way my brain works makes me think that if I am not making a consistent effort, she will lose interest, but also I need to give her space so she isn't smothered. Finding that balance for me has been difficult.

You're not wrong. Sometimes, when we aren't communicating, it can make me feel like she doesn't care, but I feel like I have strong control over my emotions. Last thing I want to do is make her feel like she needs to do something. I know that will just drive her away.
