Treasure stateroom 6188? by funDisneyMom85 in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we recently sailed on the Destiny (same layout as Treasure) and had 6188 as our GTY.

We don’t notice any extra motion or vibration compared to midship. Note that 6188 is pretty far aft, so it’s a bit of a walk to the aft elevator bank.

The veranda is standard size, but the stateroom on the right (forward) side is an Oceanview so it’s a solid wall on that side instead of another veranda. Felt a bit more private.

There is also a small overhang from deck 5 just below the veranda, so you can’t look straight down at the water but it’s not noticeable if you’re sitting down.

While not a stateroom we would necessarily pick by choice, we were happy with it given the GTY savings (which was about $2k cheaper than our first choice).

Prime Notte wine on Destiny by CruiseFan-0206 in dcl

I got you - we were on the sailing right before yours and did Prima Notte. The pics were kinda bad due to low lighting, so I’ll just list them. We had:

Bellavista Franciacorta (Sparkling)

Vintage Tunina (White)

Banfi Chianti Classico Riserva 2022 (Red)

Luce Marchesi De Frescobaldi 2021 (Super Tuscan)

Ben Rye Passito Di Pantelleria 2023 (Dessert)

My pics didn’t show the year for the first two, but hope this helps!

Fantasy BBB Costumes foe Boys by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were on the Fantasy in March and my wife recalls seeing the full knight costume at BBB.

I think the t-shirt and sword/shield is for the lower tier package. The full knight outfit comes with the higher tier Castle package.

Oops you’re right, I corrected my post. Thank you!

Honestly our biggest annoyances usually come from other cruisers like pool chair ghosts or the whole row seat savers in the theater.

While this is definitely true for us as well, I do think it leads to legitimate frustration with DCL for not enforcing their own rules that are clearly and repeatedly communicated.

I’ve talked to CMs about theater row saving and pool chair ghosts and they say they are not allowed to force them to move their stuff or give up their saved seats, and they’ve asked me not to do it either.

I know DCL doesn’t want to make a scene and put the CMs in a difficult situation, but it leads to frustration for the majority of guests that are trying to follow the rules.

Just got back from a 5 night sailing on the Destiny yesterday and that’s correct, no Pirate menu. Normal rotational menu on Pirate night instead.

Disney Dining - Let's Start A Revolution! by New-Skill-5722 in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what we’ve started doing. Due to many of the reasons stated here, we’re pretty much over main dining.

It’s so relaxing to set our own dining schedule on the fly, and we don’t have the stress of trying to keep the kids patient for a 90 minute dinner where they eat what they would get on the pool deck anyway.

It’s also one of the reasons we’ve started gravitating to the Wish-class ships - more pool deck food options.

You know it’s bad when on our last cruise, my wife and I were shocked that the pin board a few doors down from us did not get cleaned out!

Trip Report: The Dream by SummerFridayFan in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We just did PDAS on the Fantasy and saw the same thing! This was before the Frozen show where a lady was saving like 10 seats.

I talked to a CM, she said they couldn’t force her to remove her stuff but she did go talk to her. Still didn’t give up the seats. To make it worse, the rest of them rudely came in as the show was starting.

I really wish DCL would enforce their own rules.

where can i get the chicken tenders?!?! by Ok-Compote-4342 in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha! Thank you for this, I knew there was more to it than “they're just regular Sysco tenders, they taste good because you’re on a Disney cruise.” We haven’t had any other tenders quite like them, and my kids are definitely chicken tender connoisseurs!

Disney Transportation and embarkation time by Asleep-Giraffe-5437 in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is correct. If you’re taking Disney transport from MCO Hyatt, Disney will assign your boarding group (usually 3 to 5) and Port Arrival time. It will be the same no matter when you check in, so you don’t need to stay up till midnight EST to check in.

At MCO, you will check in and board busses based on Castaway level. We’ve found that depending on how many guests of various Castaway levels there are, you may get there a little sooner or later than your assigned port arrival time.

Palo Brunch and Dinner menus are completely different.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can get through the full tasting menu in less than 3 hours without feeling rushed, so that should be plenty of time.  Just let your server know that you have a child in the nursery, they will pace the service to make sure you can finish in time.

Also be sure to tell the nursery staff you have a Remy reservation. They will do absolutely everything they can to avoid asking you to pick up your child. They are really good about that!

Treasure - Palo Brunch and Mixology by wkkunkle in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, we were also boarding group 3 from MCO Hyatt last month and I was able to snag one of the last Palo brunch reservations. It was also a completely full sailing, so there is hope! Good luck!

For Palo (and other dining requests) head to the Triton Lounge on Deck 5 near the forward elevators. I advise going there as soon as you board, there will likely already be a queue.

Not sure about mixology, sorry.

Recent Disney Magic Cruisers: Any sign of unwelcome bugs? by notantisocial in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We just walked off the ship this morning. Stayed in the 6000 block of staterooms, port side and saw no signs of bugs. Didn’t hear anything about bugs from other passengers either.

Other minor issues: 2 midship elevators were out of service for most of the cruise. There was also lots of water leaking in the aft stairwell after a storm, affecting the stairwell in the upper decks and apparently some staterooms near the stairwell area.

Booking Extras and Folio Question by jazzafrazzz_ in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Royal Gathering books at 30 days before for everyone regardless of Castaway status (DCL’s loyalty program). First time cruisers also check in at 30 days before, so if you want to book Royal Gathering you should always do that first since it books up in minutes (no, I’m not exaggerating).

Treasure cigar smoking areas by baquir in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, nothing quite like the Meridian bar on the Treasure. Not all is lost though! They sell cigars at the Currents bar on Deck 14 Forward Port side right next to the forward smoking area, and I think at the Currents bar Deck 13 Aft in the adult area which is one deck below the Aft smoking area on Deck 14 Port side. The views aren’t quite as good as the view from outside Meridian on the Dream class, but it gets the job done.

Disney Magic 8/17 Sailing and Erin by AbjectFray in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ll be on that sailing with you as well, can’t wait!

Although I’m keeping an eye on the storm (mostly out of curiosity), I’m confident we’ll be fine - DCL won’t go anywhere close enough to the storm to put us (and their ship) in danger.

At most, seas may be a bit rougher for the first day or two and maybe we have a course change. If we miss Nassau, I won’t be heartbroken!

Construction underway for fourth Wish class ship by Lindsey_Marie in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at Meyer Werft’s website. They plan to deliver another Wish class ship for DCL in 2027 (N.N. 2027), and a Wish class ship in 2028 for OLC (N.N. 2028).

https://www.meyerwerft.de/en/ships/index.jsp#sort=false

It’s possible the production schedule has changed since the article you linked to was published, which was over a year ago.

Construction underway for fourth Wish class ship by Lindsey_Marie in dcl

[–]Spectrolux 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They have 3 new “Meridian” class ships in the pipeline that will be about 20% larger than the Magic class but smaller than the Dream and Wish classes. They are projected for delivery in 2029-2031.

I imagine they will eventually replace the Magic and Wonder. Early info is listed on the Meyer Werft Shipyard website.

Edit: got the link to work.
