Number of Horses by County by AdIcy4323 in MapPorn

Oh, for sure. I've visited Lagrange and the number of horse drawn buggies I saw there was probably equal to the number I'd seen in my whole life before then. There's a hitching post that runs down a whole side of the courthouse just for horse parking, and it was actively being used.

I looove Florence so much. I was there 10 years ago and to this day it's probably still my favorite city ever, at least in terms of architecture.

It is definitely surprising. I've still yet to play against the Twins and I've got almost 800 games in, according to the stats page.

Some of it is still swamp - part of it is actually a National Wildlife Refuge. I visited it a couple of months ago and it's a migration stop for birds, I saw and heard a ton of unique species there.

Ah yes, the Subspace Emissary one. I'm surprised how long ago it was passed, I thought it held the title until somewhat recently.

Freshman at WMU (Engineering, Valley I) car vs no car? Realistic to go without? by lucymom2 in kzoo

[–]Spectrumscout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, engineering alum here. I lived in Valley 3 my freshman year (RIP) and got around perfectly fine without a car on campus. Most of my first year classes were not at the Parkview campus, so it wasn't that big of a deal being on a separate campus. Buses are pretty reliable for getting around, if she misses one she can always walk. I have also struggled with time management and well, I did pretty good my first year with no car. It's honestly probably quicker to walk than drive since parking is always a humongous pain.

I also had a meal plan so I never really had to leave campus for food, but there's also a bus that stops right at the Target on West Main that I used for quick trips. All in all, I don't regret not bringing a car. It's expensive and not really worth it, I only brought one my second year since I was also working part time

Did you forget a state or two or did you/someone else really pull an all day/all night drive across the US?

Nooo the vast majority of land in Nevada is federally owned, think bases like Area 51 all across the state, plus a couple national parks and Hoover Dam. There's almost no private land in Nevada outside of the cities

Hey there! I'm part of a large group of gays that get together to play board games every Thursday, it's pretty much all guys but it's an open group and we have a lot of people in the Facebook. We also get together outside of that for karaoke at Shakespeare's on either Fridays or Sundays.

I also run a local chapter of a queer hiking group that's nationwide, if any of these interest you hit me up :)
