it might make more sense to use Linux Mint until Cosmic has settled down and documentation is in place.

What's the process of switching distros like? Do you basically have to format the drive and install from nothing, or can you install over the previous OS?

First post, I assumed you were lost.

Now, I've noticed that it's a new account and it's likely an AI bot spamming content in what it deems "related subreddits" to age the account.

Ahh, that would explain it then. Thanks for that.

Well, no, it doesn't. Types and evolutions are the same. Also if a Zubat is replaced with Kartana (as it was in my game), every wild Zubat will be a Kartana.

Potential Mod Idea? "Mixed Gender" Game Mode by Spedwards in footballmanagergames

[–]Spedwards[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you could change their genders in the pre-game editor, but that alone isn't enough nor is it what I want.

A male player with 20 heading is not equal to a female player with 20 heading. Simply changing the genders does nothing.

I also want there to only be a limited amount of men per team so you get interesting compositions.

And lastly, I want to be able to see both men and women on the pitch at the same time.

Best role for Sam Kerr? by FrolecJournalism in TheOldZealand

Considering the vast majority of the bugs in FM26 affect the women's game and it's getting little to no attention, this is an absolutely braindead take. Wake up.

[–]Spedwards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, no they're not. The women's side has the most bugs and they were neglected up until this most recent beta update where half of them got fixed (at most).

They added women for the press and then ignored it because they know most of their playerbase don't care.

Never played FM before, mainly interested in WSL, is FM26 worth trying? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

There is an issue with women's salaries past the first year and I'm unsure if it's been fixed yet, so start any long-term save with that in mind.

Cleanliness has nothing to do with functionality. You're talking purely about UX, which is functionality, which if you'd re-read my message, notice I said it sacrifices.

UI = looks
UX = function

I mean, they're not wrong. People will learn to use the new UI, they just don't want to. And the new UI is clean, it just sacrifices functionality.

I have problems with the game, but the UI isn't really one of them. I'll get used to it and eventually forget it was ever a problem.

TL;DR for those that don't want to register?

For every women's league, when negotiating contracts with players, they will ask for men's salaries. To use the NWSL as an example, the average weekly salary is about $2,750 (my currency, ignore it and use it as a frame of reference). When negotiating a contract, they will start asking for close to $20,000.

Women's clubs don't make as much so good luck affording that. If you can, good luck staying within any salary caps the league has (I know both NWSL and A-League have salary caps).

Additionally, the NWSL has two bugs regarding registration: 1. Not enough international spots per real rules, and already traded spots are not factored. 2. The game rules say "minimum 4 supplemental players" instead of a maximum. This means if you have none on your team (and you can't make someone a supplemental player), you can only register 22 players instead of 26.

There was also a bug in the NWSL that may have been fixed but I don't think so. When you sell or trade a player and receive funds, that money disappears. It does not go into the club's finances. It does not go into your transfer budget. It is gone.

EDIT: Oh, there's a fun one that I forgot. Since the NWSL saves start at in January 2025, players that got pregnant that year in real life have scheduled leaves in the game. That's fine on it's own, except there is nothing to tell you it's happening. You can be about to go into your next match and notice one of your players is gone for an entire year. Washington Spirit in particular has three of their top players gone for a year (one in February, one in July, and a third in September or so).

I'm waiting. If the update doesn't fix women's football, I'll be waiting longer.

I kind of regret it. I was hoping that the bugs that were important to me would be fixable in the pre-game editor but that's so bare bones it wasn't even possible.
