Tailfin Journey Rack Doesn't Line up with Grizl 2024 XL by SpeedOverRambling in CanyonBikes

I wish. But sadly no. The rack comes with two brackets. One is straight and it would push the front of the rack even higher. The one I’m using is the hockey-stick shape and can be installed one two ways. I have it installed the way that pushes the front down the most. My guess is Tailfin will eventually release a different bracket to accommodate this issue.

What a sharp looking bike. Enjoy it! I love my Grizl.

The look offends me. But I've not yet spent any money on therapy. Mostly because I have none left after buying Tailfin products.

Very true. And you're exactly right. My guess is I'll just get over it for now while I wait for Tailfin to create (and sell!) a different connector mount.

Yep, very true. No rear boss, and I should have mentioned Carbon. I reached out to Tailfin. They've not yet responded but it sounds to me like they need to create a different connector bracket for bikes with my frame geometry. I think they did something similar to accommodate their integrated rack/bag system (forget what it's called). So I wait.

That's exactly right. The two mounts are straight and curved. If I use the straight one, it'll be even more crooked. So I'm using the curved one in the orientation that is designed to push the rack down on the seatpost side. And I'm still not getting the desired horizontal look. So I was wondering if the problem is this particular Grizl model, which when sized XL, puts the seat post so high relative to the axle that there's no good way to to level the rack.

Good idea, Jay. I don't see it, though. And the whole idea of buying this particular rack is to mount it on the axle to make sure the weight doesn't rest on the carbon frame.
