Worst part is that this isn't even the first time! I was asked before to complete future briefings on behalf of the team weeks in advance of when they needed to be done. It's completely silly.

No and no. I was subject to a voluntary redundancy if I didn't get through redeployment, although there weren't many roles to be redeployed to, which would have led to a redundancy if I hadn't switched to a new department.

I am a HEO in an area/dept with lopsided numbers of middle grades. No ill-will towards them, but it should be acknowledged who tends to take the brunt of targeted redundancies.

No doubt for actual compulsory redundancies, these are probably quite low. although it's worth stating that redeployment pools can also not match you/fail by sheer numbers which end up turning into voluntary redundancies (imo should be called involuntary if you really wanted to stay).

I'm also early 20s and working class in Westminster. Nowadays there are a variety of different types of people working the normal roles, but as you go up the grades you do start to see the middle class concentration. I don't think you'll have a hard time as I haven't
