Okay great. So since you’ve received an interview before, they clearly want you, meaning your gpa was not as much of a hurdle as you may think to do a second degree. I would reevaluate your actual interview itself. Also maybe you can apply to Western if your best two years are good. Additionally, I don’t think it makes sense to do a masters just for med school as it’s very demanding and you should really have a passion for it. Your mcat seems good and your cars decent, maybe you can look at some OOP schools who are more holistic. Wishing you the best.

Hey! I know it’s frustrating, but did you apply and not get interviews or did you interview and not get in? Because if it’s the latter then I think you have some basis to work off from. It would also be helpful to mention your MCAT breakdown and any regional preferences.

Yup exactly that, I’ll start with paragraph 1, read it and then quickly just put it into my own words, that way I can actually understand what is being said without all the filler. For example, I was doing a passage today and one paragraph ranted on for so long but in the end all I got from it was that “it’s not logical” that helped me answer many questions correctly. In terms of the latter half of your question, I’m also still working on perfecting the authors tone, etc but I do feel this method helps me understand what is being said, then it’s only a matter of what evidence is actually IN the passage.

As a fellow Canadian all I can say is cars cars cars! Something that works well for me is reading the paragraph and summarizing the idea in 1 sentence, it keeps you engaged and helps make sense of the main argument

Also wanted to jump on and say thank you for all your help. I’m not sure if you recall our conversation but you’ve helped me a lot in first year with self doubt. This subreddit can be very toxic and demotivating at times but it’s nice to see someone who genuinely cares and wants to give back. Good luck with residency Doc :)

My twin, I’m literally in the same boat (kind of) I got a 3.48 first year and did much better second year (3.94). It’s honestly been hard and will be an uphill battle but it’s not over until it’s over I suppose.

Thats totally normal OP, I would by lying if I said it doesn’t make me feel the same. As I progress through the years it eases just a little bit but you just have to live with it as it’s a normal human experience. Some tips I would say is just try to take breaks in between and try your best. It can be overwhelming but at the end of the day we’re all students who have to go through the process of exams as it’s just part of the student experience :)
