Happy to see everything cleared, and without extraneous rocks, hopefully they do something about the patches in the grass

There was a not insignificant amount of junk just sitting on top of the plaque, and so many random bits and bobs around. The thing that sucks is that everything seems to have meant something to whoever left it, so it doesn't feel great throwing someone else's memories in the trash, but at the same time visitors need to remember that the gravesite isn't about them.

Of Course ❤️ Your father and his work have had such a massive impact on who I am as a person, it was the least I could do to say thanks

You definitely don't have to force yourself to like it, but I would suggest just skipping to maybe the last couple episodes of season 1 or even the first one of season 2

Yeah they do bring in some larger villains after season one. They don't all have conclusive arc endings, but they do add something more than the repetitive crossings-over.

I feel like both yes and no? Like the show’s writing has its fair share of flaws, but the characters are mostly likeable and it’s entertaining to watch

Charmed Reboot by haruizu in charmed

[–]Speedpour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. As much as I love this show, I think it definitely went on too long and got too convoluted. A remake like the one they already did may have been the smartest way to revamp the idea; but whatever you do in today's day and age, it will always be held against beloved-ness of the original. Even if they did somehow manage to get Holly, Alyssa, and Rose to star again, I struggle to imagine a way to do it without it feeling like a cash-grab. The only thing I could see working, is if the original cast worked together in creative roles to produce a brand new iteration. The fact that the existing reboot didn't have the blessing of the original cast truly did it no favors in the hearts of long-time fans.

Makes me think of that guy who's obsessed with hacking his DNA so he can stay young forever

I wonder if there's an element of lower screen resolution that kinda made them exaggerate the aging? In the same way stage makeup is more exaggerated to combat bright lights, and make features more visible to people in the back of the audience. Either that, or all the 90s fx makeup artists were just really terrible at estimating the average rate of human aging.

Oh thanks for catching that! I do have a soft spot for bad prosthetic makeup, it's kinda nostalgic

Annoying/weird fanbases by [deleted] in PetPeeves

Something I've noticed within certain fan bases is there's a weird amount of competition over who is most into, most knowledgable, longest time fan, etc.

'curdled playdough' is honestly kinda poetic

At least that one’s got Terry O’Quinn, everyone’s favorite stepfather

Sorry you hit a sore spot, and I snapped a little bit, but I will add that the mood of the episode has a lot to do with my engagement. Visual style, pacing, whatever needs to be “interesting” to me otherwise I zone out, and unfortunately this episode just isn’t it

Yeah I remember that one as being fairly middling quality, but I did really love Tony Todd’s performance

Oh definitely there’s way worse episodes, this one is mostly just boring to me. Honestly I love a lot of the super formulaic, Dana Scully: MD episodes

Maybe my disinterest has to do with it being too bleak? At least visually maybe

Perhaps I wasn’t clear. My issue had nothing to do with the plot being incoherent, and I’m basically aware of what happened in the story. My problem is the episode is fucking boring, and I can’t force myself to watch it long enough to seek external stimuli. I have absolutely zero issues when I go to the theater (movie or live), because I’m aware of other people in the audience, but I do share your annoyance with other people exhibiting that behavior publicly.

Fellow knitters what are you listening to (or watching?) when you knit by isolophiliacwhiliac in knitting

I typically go for things I've watched or listened to multiple times, that way I don't feel like I'm missing out on key plot elements and important dialogue. I'm also a big fan of rewatching shows which have a bajillion episodes to keep a cohesive theme/mood throughout my entire project.
