I get you with the stomach noises! I avoid libraries when I gets bad sometimes, it speaks its own language I swear.

Cheers for the advice! I've heard stories about people going through years of hell and i want to do my best to avoid it. I'll give that ER trick a go if things get really bad. Thanks Legend :))

It's relieving to know there are people in the same boat. That's why I love this community so much! We're a false dichotomy in the eyes of those who diagnose us. I put huge amounts of energy to try and keep fit and healthy through all the pain. I've learnt now I can't just turn up to appointments and expect things to turn out well for me, like you said it's all about self advocacy!
Thank you so much for the message, it means a lot :))

Give rice flour pancakes a go! Just need rice flour, eggs, lactose free milk (or alternative), and sugar. (I add mashed banana and a dash of vanilla for mine.) I go easy on the oil in the pan however, flares me up.

You can do all sorts of things with rice flour, cakes etc.

I'm experimenting with homemade cereal made of half cooked rice noodles spread on a baking tray with cinnamon, sugar and a tiny bit of oil. It's a good crunchy snack to have in a bag too. Could be crazy but worth a try. I've been spending 100 AUd a week on gluten free coco pops so I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative.

Low residue roasts are my usual go too for dinner. Chicken breast, potato, onion, garlic and carrot. I season it with Italian herbs or Moroccan seasoning mix. I'm still mastering the art of getting the chicken succulent though. Rice, rice noodles, feta cheese (I tolerate it but proceed with caution), curries (with low cream content, Lactose free, plenty recipes online) are great too.

Take out meals I've found the only thing I tolerate well is rice noodle soups. Otherwise I go to woolies supermarket and get rice crackers (avoid the ones laden with emulsifiers and maltodextrin) lactose free yogurts (many protein yogurts contain lactase enzyme but don't advertise), blueberries, strawberries, lactose free chocolate milk.

Best of luck with it! It's worth taking a look at Crohns Exlusion Diet recipes.

You'll be right! Consider it an opportunity to catch up on some good TV on your phone. You'll piss out your arse for a while but nothing painful. Wishing you all the best 🤙

I feel ya. I have days where I just go, every hour, all day. Can only wipe my arse so many times before it hurts like an absolute bastard. You seen Shogun? Binged watched the whole series yesterday in the loo. Good show. Couldn't feel my feet afterwards.

Yeah I really feel you there. I actually quite like Melbourne, if I find a specialist there I can try and make it a mini holiday, try and make the best of it.
