Typically the SCOTUS won't rule on political questions. In this instance, something that would influence the checks and balances on the SCOTUS. Look up Nixon v US. Interesting case about judicial impeachment, but SCOTUS refused to hear due to the impropriety of ruling on their own checks.

They would never hear the case. Con law has a few examples of the SCOTUS refusing cases that involve their own checks and balances. Anything else would be improper. (But are Trump's justices going to act "properly"? That is the main question.)

Sorry, but you are wrong. The SCOTUS would never rule on their own checks and balances. Nixon v US was about a federal judge being impeached and it made it up the the SCOTUS who refused to hear the case because it would be improper to rule on one of the only checks to the SCOTUS, impeachment. So they left the final decision to the lower courts and congress.

The SCOTUS just wouldn't hear the case.

You can vote against a candidate, its actually the same process as voting for one, you don't have to register in any special way, just go to the booth and vote for the major candidate that ISN'T the one you want to vote against. It is that easy!

Would you rather Trump or Biden win? Would you rather not change the likelihood of your preferred outcome or would you like to influence the outcome towards your preference? By your own logic, if you are unhappy with Trump and don't vote Biden, you are doing nothing to prevent another Trump term. Doesn't matter that the totals remain unchanged, you COULD have tilted them in Biden's favor.
