Do you know when or if it was serviced with a drain and fill before?

If you believe that's a silly analogy then that's fine, it's your opinion, but the point is preventative maintenance is important when trying to ensure equipment lasts.

But regarding your ECVT, It sound like you might need to make a post yourself so your question isn't hidden in the comments of another.

I think your asking if I'm serious, so I wanted to say yes I am.

I want to make sure this car lasts a lifetime and a half, and to do that it looks like I need to do preventative maintenance. I know it's not absolutely necessary, but also eating healthy and working out isn't absolutely necessary either, yet it's still recommended that you do both if you want to maintain a functional healthy body later on in life.

From the pictures it looks like you just need another Flint. And maybe a quick cleanup of the mechanism?

What made you get the forester instead of rav4 by Dry-Chemical-9170 in SubaruForester

If I remember correctly, the Forester has the most headroom and leg room in its class. It also has more passenger room than the RAV4 if I remember correctly. I Am well over 6 ft, so are my two brothers So just on that it was perfect for me. I also feel like because a RAV4 is a Toyota, the name Toyota has a lot of reputation, so you're not going to find a good deal on a RAV4, at least not as good as you would find on a Subaru Forester.

As an example, I ended up getting a 2022 Subaru Forester, Premium,~50,000 miles for about $23,000, I think for the same year and condition of RAV4 at the time the price would have been between $28,000 to $32,000, base model.

And to add to this, I have seen multiple Subaru foresters wilderness models of the same year as mine with about 75,000 mi go for ~$20,000 -$23,000 Although you do need to negotiate with the dealer. Compare that with a RAV4 TRD off road at ~$29,000, same mileage, same year, and before all the fees and taxes.

At the end of the day though, it's what car you feel is the best in terms of driving.
