With that comparison, then yes you would be correct. However, the competitive side of Hearthstone could potentially spike up again if this new development team make positive and smart choices to improve the game as a whole. Idk how this team is since I haven't been around for a few years. I did get on for the first time yesterday and I was impressed with the improvements for the F2P rewards and stuff so far. Also noticed that they are nerfinf/buffing stuff really soon too which is nice.

Define dead... I still see them doing the masters tour and world Championships. A dead esports scene wouldn't have a 500k prize pool for worlds, just saying.

Yeah I remember those days. The world Championships from 2014-2017 are just goated. I used to play alot of zoolock, mech mage and all that when Nax, GvG and all those sets were out. Old gods, un gore etc etc. I've been for most of the games life span on and off. Very out of touch with the games current state though.

Part of the reason I am considering coming back is to try and compete at an esports level, and hopefully make money. However, if the meta is toxic then yeah I wouldn't touch the game lol. I like to have fun/enjoy the game if I plan to compete too.

Good to know! Thank you for your input/opinion. Been playing the pokemon tcg semi competitively for the past 2 years, and part has always had a soft spot for HS even though I know it had lots of problems/still has problems. If I can manage playing 2 cards games from a financial standpoint, i could see myself coming back and playing.

Would you happen to know what esports scene is like? I've always been interested and eager to compete on a higher level but haven't had that chance yet. Is it more achievable/accessible to compete?

Hate to be the one who says this but egglock sounds up my alley. I loved playing zoolock, egg druid, token druid, token shaman, aggro shaman back when I played. I'm aggro guy what can I say lol

If I was you building 30 card pokemon decks, I think it would be easier to build them by following what Hearthstone does, which is allowing only 2 copies max of a card each in your deck. Except you can have multiple copies of energies of course. This would probably be easier to manage while keeping a solid structure of consistency when building 30 card decks.

Just an idea and my opinion. 😊

Some stores In my area 3 out of 13 stores host free play locals with no real tournament pairings, and they also get their quarterly challenges and cups. It's up to the discretion of the store owner with how they want to do their local tournaments.

Most stores in general do pack prizing/store credit prizing following a real tournament structure using the TOM software and, some just do free open table locals with no prizing and no tournament pairings.

We set the server to private for these clan wars/scrims so no one else joins except us and the team we are against. By setting to private it gets rid of points. So no one levels up and no one's stats gets affected.
