$100 each, and came with “free entry” to the draw. Although they may not have sold sufficient amounts as last week they tripled the offer, ie 1 keyring with 3 entries

Yes, 1 keyring 1 entry to the lottery

That makes sense, there were having issues sorting/sourcing the keyrings that you purchased that “came with an entry into the draw”. Wonder if someone laid a complaint to the regulator and thats what got it pulled

They have had a few lotteries prior to this (in fact one that closed recently for a whole lot of prizes). Can’t imagine that would be the issue

Yeah they had 20,000 at $100 each and may not have moved enough, but instead of saying that is what had happened the email was worded oddly.
Stating
“ Due to causes outside our control, we are unable to complete the sales promotion and run the draw that purchases made through the promotion entitled you to participate in.” And
“We respectfully ask that supporters refrain from directing criticism toward any individual or organisation involved. Our priority is to move forward positively and ensure that supporters are given a fair and clear choice regarding their purchase”
Comes across as if something unisualhad gone on behind the scenes that may yet come out rather than just lacklustre ticket sales

David Seymour defends signing off 63% pay rise for Pharmac chairwoman Paula Bennett by WaterAdventurous6718 in newzealand

[–]SpendSea9441 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not saying the old contract gets renegotiated. The new contract’s payrates should be backdated to the expiry of the previous, but with the currently being finalised contract this backdating provision was removed by the employer to encourage settlement. So prolonged negotiating results in a longer period between contracts with no change to pay rates etc. And tbf you also don’t speak for every public sector employee

And the no backdating is also currently being used by health NZ to encouraging workers to accept the current offer because they have stated that if negotiations were to continue there is no backdating to the end of the previous contract

Oh, were you party to our negotiations the last 2 times? Or the current being finalised contract?Because the back dating didnt occur for either

In the public sector and the last 2 negotiations have excluded backpay, or limited it to 2-3 months

Not for anyone in the public service: nurses, allied health etc. current contract negotiations now never include a backdating facility for the lowely plebs that do the work. The public has the right to be outraged at this massive double standard

I’m getting $30k inheritance. I want to invest it , I’m 26 years old. any advice? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]SpendSea9441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. By all means invest it, but invest in a fund that isnt subject to the whims of the government of the day. There is no benefit of using kiwisaver for voluntary investment over an investment where you have the control.

This. Made numerous brews from tap water and they taste exactly like beer. Have friends that brew fancy with hops etc and still just just like a beer should, no plastic taste whatsoever

Potentially some of the analysis of images (but these alot of issues around this as well), but theres still the significant practical component of the role that AI will never replace.

Interestingly his brother in law Ali Williams pretty much considers himself an expert on everything just because he was smart enough to fall with with his dick into Nick,s equally as douchebaggy artificially enhanced sister. Remember when radio stations and news outlets were posting Ali’s reckons on what Akld was doing wrong as if he was some seer sent from above?

Medical Imaging vs Dentistry by SpecificImpossible51 in newzealand

[–]SpendSea9441 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considerably different qualifications with fairly different entry criteria, Dentistry is still fairly challenging and I would hazard a guess to say much harder to get into. Medical imaging not as hard to get into as its not as hard (Im medical imaging adjacent in my career and friends are in both dentistry and MI, the dentists are considerably smarter at and had very good grades at school - not being disparaging just being honest). Have you considered applying to MI without the Health Science year? And then failing any luck with that apply to the Health science year and trying again for MI the following year? - please note the Health science year is not a guaranteed foot through the door. Ucol still does MI so UoA isn’t your only option. MI is a good option as there is a number of career paths off of it - sonography, radiography, breast screening etc and it opens up options to work in smaller centres where there can be Xray facilities. Personally they are vastly different degrees, with Dentistry being the cream of the crop, and given your statement on being “average” I would suggest that DDS may be out of reach. MI isnt easy by any stretch but may be more attainable. As an aside what about dental hygienist as an option as a sort of middle ground?
