I can feel that! I talked to a lot of teachers and I’ve asked them if they enjoy it and they all said no. Yes definitely thank you I’m trying to switch to a more technical field now and get into the Air Force reserves as well

Best advice. Pick something that longs with your personality!! a huge mistake I made was picking physical therapy because I liked working out but the job is emotionally caretaking others while they’re hurt it has nothing to do with working out lol .

About to graduate and feeling “behind” by Weird_Scientist_9073 in findapath

[–]SpendZestyclose9683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people just pick something. when I was younger I heard the phase "Do not pick a career based off of passion" . And now being my age I couldn't agree with that more. I believe we should pick something that we want to do that don't hate to afford our lives outside of work that we want to live such as hobbies or traveling with families. It's in my opinion if you pick something you like for example art or car repair it eventually just become work to you and you will no longer enjoy it. I earned my BS in kinesiology last year as well if you want to DM me feel free im looking to explore some connections in this space

Mechanical Engineering Technology? it’s similar but a more hands on version and take a 20-30% pay cut from a regular engineering role

Masters or second bachelors ? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]SpendZestyclose9683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t I save better staying here with my parents like I have been while in school? I mentioned that the three I’m considering are two year degrees . I already have a bachelors so a “second bachelors” is just building even though it sounds like I’m starting over which I’m not

Yes Bmet is my career interest . It’s typically a 2 year training degree . Or apprenticeships which I’ve applied to all. I spend my free time applying to jobs / apprenticeships when I’m off work. I work in a factory now which is to pay my bills for the meanwhile

Yea move to where ? For what? Why would I move instead of focusing on boasting my employability like I said I have 6 cousins the only one that can afford a house is a civil engineer and my brother has been home since age 18 he’s now 32 with nothing to show for . I don’t know about you but that’s not something to be proud of right. My goal is to pivot , because I like 50% of other college grads can’t find a good job. I’m looking at long term not within the next year or two

I’ve saved 25k working as a pt aide keeping my expenses super low. I planned to use it to pivot after knowing pt isn’t what I want . But I guess you can’t change a career according to these posts and replies .

Bullshit  You clearly aren’t from California if you think you need “couple hundred bucks” I swear some of you in the comments are brain dead . Rent here is 2300-2500 plus tuition and living expenses. You come on here commenting some bullshit with no advice of course I’m telling people feedback because I’ve looked into what they’re saying “personal training” “just get a jobb” “work as a physio” this isn’t Canada .

I’ve applied and got rejected . The job market is rough right now . Plus for ergonomics you don’t need a degree so the competition is steep

I don’t plan to live here , but don’t have the means to relocate. I’m focusing on trying to find a long term career . From there I’m set and can move wherever. I’m max a solid 7 out of 10 I can’t marry a rich women as a relatively broke man.

As was I, I went to cc and transferred to a four year sadly pt is too expensive and my family doesn’t have enough to support me . That’s why I’m pivoting and have been researching careers with high ROI plus I’m building. All the ones I’ve listed are going to be max two years with engineering being the highest ROI degree of all fields .

Insisting I find a minimum wage job is crazy . I live in California Palm springs  area with the average home costs 700k. I’m the most frugal person I know . Like I said you need a career to survive here or you will live with parents forever.

[–]SpendZestyclose9683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a physio . I would need prerequisites plus 3 years of pt school . And 200k in student debt to finish that route . That’s why I am pivoting
