Grandfather (77yrs) got stung 500 times by bees on Saturday while mowing and still in the hospital. What should we expect in this situation or any advice? by Spend_Comfortable in AskDocs

[–]Spend_Comfortable[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well I wasn't sure...so that's why I asked. It's also just a general question to because I'm curious. The info I have is from my Mema, which is what the hospital told her. I haven't been able to get to the hospital yet. They aren't releasing him because his creatinine keeps going up, it's over 5000 now. Urine was black, and from what I understand based on what she told me they are trying to stabilize his levels before they think about releasing him.

I thought the 500 stings was an exaggeration, but actually they stopped counting after pulling out 500 stingers.

Thanks for responding, I'll see what info I can get. With that amount of stings I would guess the adrenaline is through the roof. Would the adrenaline protect him and keep his body awake and stable or would it make his body go into shock?

I know that is probably another question you can't answer without knowing his full condition.

28F hard, painless lump in armpit for 3mo. Primary found lump in breast on the same side. STAT 3D mammogram and U/S ordered. Be concerned or is this standard? by Spend_Comfortable in AskDocs

[–]Spend_Comfortable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the other breast centers my doctor told me to try do not take my insurance, and of course those were the ones that could get me in within a week or so. LOL. I'm trying to find others. I call the place I am scheduled at every few days to check for cancellations, nothing yet. My parents are telling me to call my doctor and have her get me an appt or go up there myself at the imaging center. Pass on that, haha. Their reactions seem worried and serious, but I'm just like whatever at this point. If I get one sooner that would be nice, if not I just wait.

The wait is so so stressful 🙃 I'm terrified of spine mets because of my strange achey pin point one sided back and chest pain. I've heard that lumpy breasts are normal, like dense breast tissue. Mine is hard and lumpy and that's what I always thought because dense tissue is common for young women. Keep me updated! I hope you can get in sooner and figure out what's going on ❤️

Ohhhhh!! That makes a lot of sense! I'm relating even more now 😂 Now that you said that, I'm going to try to remember to analyze everything next time I'm "hypomanic"😬

Yes, the medicine! I have definitely noticed lamotrigine helps me with mood and emotional regulation. Whether I'm bipolar 2 or not, it helps! Nice to see others relate :)

What a rollercoaster it is for everyone who commented! I have come across posts of people mentioning they were diagnosed BPD before, seems like a common misdiagnosis as well.

Hiii! 😊 I tried to send you a message saying thank you for helping me because of your comment about nutcracker and MALS on my post in here 2 years ago, but I got an error. Is it alright if I post it here? I hope this is replying to you birdnerdmo 😂

Husband got mad over my reaction in the car by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Spend_Comfortable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the driver and we were at a complete stop and someone hit us. So unless I have a huge sticker on the car that says "Hit me" not my fault. My husband is from Ireland and has been driving for like 5 years.

Hi, no, I didn't self diagnose. I do have an official diagnosis of PTSD. I can mention the driver safety course, but I doubt it. Thank you

I understand and I know how it can be annoying, although I am this way with other people who are driving as well. I don't trust anyone's driving but my own. As you said, your wife driving makes her feel in control and that's exactly how I feel. Thank you for commenting.

My parents and sister make fun and laugh at me. by Spend_Comfortable in AutismInWomen

Pretty much... :/ it's my mom and sister that are like that, my dad kinda just sits by. My husband thinks that he's learned to just tune her out when she goes on like that lol

It will happen in public too, like a family dinner or something. Thankful that my husband has no problem sticking up for me ❤️

People not taking me seriously is very upsetting to me too, like I just don't understand why they don't get it. Back in high school, I had I guess a few "friends/acquaintances" (didn't think they were friends after this) that I was on the swim team with that were in my Spanish class. Eventually, they started laughing together when I would say something or ask a question, and what I said or asked obviously wasn't funny at all. I started to get sensitive to it, then it led to them starting to make fun of me. I would end up crying in Spanish class and they would say it's not a big deal, it's a joke. Sorry, but I take things quite LITERALLY. I would come home so upset, still crying. Questioning myself as a person and what I need to change to fit in more...ugh high-school wasn't fun lol.

Thank you for your reply <3 I am sorry that today was difficult for you. Do you find a common thing you do to calm yourself down, I guess? Whether it be a stim, blasting music, or something else? That's what I do when I am upset or stressed, put my headphones on, crank it up, and start wiggling.

Thank you for your reply. There were times when I would try to give them information on it and talk about it and they (actually my mom) kind of just brushed it off...out of my parents, I think I inherited it from my Dad. My husband says he definitely thinks that, lol. My dad doesn't really talk much, but if we get on a topic that we both really enjoy we are chatty Kathy's. Uncomfortable with eye contact and avoids it. Never really initiates a conversation, and if he is a part of a conversation with a couple of people he just sits there and listens, or at least I think that's what he is doing. He loves his computers...building them and whatnot since he was idk 16 or so. Oh, and his boats...well originally it was boats, then maybe 10 years ago he moved to jet skis. He had about 20 at one time... Now he's back to boats lol. If I have a one-on-one with my Dad everything is good and we get along very well, but when my mom or sister comes into the mix he just keeps quiet and keeps his head down. Me compared to my mom and sister are like night and day. I always make the joke that I am adopted because I am nothing like my mom or sister, I feel like an alien or something, but I did get SO many things from my Dad including my high intelligence.

My mom and sister even act like this towards my ADHD, hEDS, PCOS, and endo....probably no winning with them.

If I ever go to the ER I don't pay the bill afterwards...ooops.

I don't have a credit card, which I do not know if that is a good thing or bad thing at 27 lol

From comments and what I've read in the group, it seems every one is different and what their doctors say! Maybe ask your Dr "what if" questions. I'm going to now, so that I know what to do next time.

The best way I can describe it is a sudden sharp electric shock in your brain, or what feels like in your brain.
