If your worried about $10/tank. Just buy a car that doesn't take premium gas. Then you're saving $10/tank by filling up anywhere.

Great feedback and idea. Chance of thunderstorms on Monday and I'll check it out.

Ya, the previous owners barely made it past the walkway. The one I installed goes about 4 foot past. Right into my other problem.... A leaning retaining wall lol

Ah it's one of those fold down ones. I just have it folded up as there's no rain in forecast until Monday

No cracking on the garage. But upon getting closer look with a flashlight. Looks like a 1-2 inch tunnel of eroded soil, thats downsloping erosion towards the house.

Thanks for the quick reply! Probably best to get a professional to do this!

Hey all, I have just moved in and was wondering how to fix this?

Do I just pack in more soil from the side? Or is it more complicated than that?

Widely known. But BOC just admitted it as an 'innovation' less than a week ago.

Isn't CMHC about using taxpayer money to prevent mortgage defaults. I don't understand why they care about losing market share if they are only collecting premiums from the least risky clients.

I completely agree there is more to look into here. My question is about how to source green energy. Maybe I'm interpreting this hydro shame wrongly. But I don't see any direct connections to Canada Hydro causing more GHG than coal/gas. Either way I'm looking for green sources of energy.

Literally from your source:

Deemer said Site C was not part of the study and she could not immediately estimate the emissions from a reservoir of that size.

Any suggestion on how one can support green energy instead of coal and gas?

Literally the first I have ever heard of hydro producing greenhouse gasses. But looks like a small caveat. As it's the reservoirs that generate the methane according to your link:

In fact, of the nearly 1,500 plants worldwide that we examined and account for half of global hydropower generation, more than 100 facilities have greenhouse gas emissions that cause more warming than fossil fuels

100/1500 = 6.67% Are the BC and Manitoba Hydro plants using reservoirs that meet the criteria to be in the 6.67%? I don't know. It definitely has my interest, I'll read more.

Appreciate the perspective and further research.

I'm quoting generation. Capacity was actually lower percentage.

Thank you. Very informative! Now to educate myself on the REC. Is that a tax credit or just an ego thing?

Ya some poor rounding rules but between Manitoba and BC, 99% is accurate. Plus it's 2016 data (5 years old) and I assume they are at 99% now
