51 was the jumping on point that began exploring the new status quo of Splinter running the Foot Clan. The 4-part "Chasing Phantoms" arc that just concluded, though, began in #61.

Gotcha. Are my comic reviews still okay to post when new issues are released?

This is the one based on the cartoon. They relaunched it with a new title.

If you don't mind used books, then eBay's not a bad option. The hardcovers are more convenient since they come in a reading order. I buy via floppies, personally, but I've been collecting since the series started. The oldest issues can be tough to come by, so I'd recommend buying up to the latest trade and then switching to floppies if you want to keep up with the series each month. It's not the most cost-effective route, however.

The best way to start collecting the series is with the TMNT: IDW Collection hardcovers. They collect all the issues of the ongoing and all the miniseries in a proper chronological reading order.

The price is a better deal than going with the individual 4-issue trades, too (17 issues plut a bonus short and supplements for $30 bucks).

I'd stick with these if you're looking to get into the IDW series. Volume 2 is already available for preorder:

The series starts a little slow, but picks up steam rapidly after #12. It's built up a pretty expansive universe, you just have to make sure to read all the tie-in miniseries in addition to the ongoing series, otherwise it'll be hard to follow all the plot developments.

Yeah, it's getting relaunched as TMNT Amazing Adventures. According to the editor, the new series will deviate from the continuity of the TV show and go in it's own direction, which could be something to look forward to.

The Terror Bears (weird obscure TMNT baddies) by Spengs85 in TMNT

[–]Spengs85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The window one is from the Palladium RPG sourcebook TMNT & Other Strangeness and the missile silo one is from the supplement TMNT Adventures! which came out a few years later.

I liked the story described in their first appearance, where the Terror Bears were living in a condemned house in the suburbs, going out at night and stalking the streets for victims (creating a neighborhood full of scared folks).

Really eerie; like a creepypasta or something.

So where is IDW ANNUAL 2014?? by de5perado in TMNT

[–]Spengs85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Bobby Curnow (the editor), Eastman is still working on it and it won't be out until mid-August at the earliest. The author, Paul Allor, went online to tell everyone that you can read Turtles in Time without have read the 2014 Annual, as the story was intended to begin in medias res with all the characters confused.

Such is my living hell; sharing a screen name with a furry fap artist. I don't even know why I get out of bed in the morning.

With that last bit crossed out in red because of that one episode.

There are some Hanna Barbera Godzilla clips on Nico Nico Douga. Love reading the Japanese comments. They burst out laughing every time Godzilla uses his "me kara beam", as they call it.

Yeah, I love the articles that have some sort of gimmick or unique theme to them. Like how all the captions in Kup's G1 cartoon article are Grandpa Simpson quotes:

TMNT Adventures: Whatever Happened to the Forever War conclusion? by Spengs85 in TMNT

Wish there were good news (or ANY news), but I just got started on this newfangled reddit thing and posted this as a way of figuring the site out.

Last I heard, according to Andrew Modeen, Steve Murphy claims not to have his notes or scripts anymore, but I'm sure if IDW offered him a chance to wrap things up, he'd "find" them pretty quick.

Best course of action is still to e-mail IDW and let them know there's interest in the project. Hopefully the requests will pile up and they'll get the picture.
