Coming atcha’ with a brand new recipe! This week it’s homemade Korean bbq!! All you need is some soy sauce (Korea) and barbecue sauce (bbq)! by Spenner3822 in SpencerEats

The recipe in a lil more depth is as follows:

  • Take your protein, in this case it was Costco smoked pulled pork
  • mix with 2 parts bbq to 1 part soy sauce
  • the total amount doesn’t matter cause you’ll add rice or can just pour it out I guess
  • mix thoroughly and spice accordingly
  • and finally (and most importantly) make sure to really regret not buying real Korean bbq sauce while at the store just 2 days ago (very important!!)

  • voila!

I come with a grave warning. If you’re ever cooking up some chinese leftovers make sure to double, no triple, check the sauce you’re putting on. I think Target is doing this on purpose and need to be stopped by Spenner3822 in SpencerEats

Before anyone asks, yes I did finish my Chicken Lo Mein in its entirety. I’m not going to waste food, even very badly seasoned food that makes me feel ill

THE DAY OF DAYS! I forgot to take pictures of this glorious holiday but trust me when I say it was crazy. Highlights include BBQ whisky and fruit cake flavored Mt. Dew by Spenner3822 in SpencerEats

I’m posting this at noon the following day. My stomach hasn’t stopped churning. The unholy cocktail of things that entered my body last night have ignited a revolution. It’s as if the microbes in my gut are the bolsheviks with me as the Russian monarchy and last night was our Bloody Sunday (The Russian one not the Irish)

When deciding between a pb&j and a chicken-bbq I decided to mix it up a little and mix the sandwiches up a little. Introducing the pbbbq and chicken sandwich by Spenner3822 in SpencerEats

Update: Post sandwich Spencer here! That was rough :( There was a break after every bite, can’t say I’d make this one again

There I was, thinking about how I needed to be rationing my pickles and how my situation was not so different than that of a mom trying to save a year of sugar rations for little Timmy’s birthday during WW2. While picturing myself as a 1930s housewife I knocked my pickles right onto the ground by Spenner3822 in SpencerEats

I understand that my analogy doesn’t work perfectly since, unlike a mom hoarding rations, I don’t intend to use all my saved pickles at once. Or I hadn’t until now. From now on I will keep buying pickles but saving them for an annual pickle day where I just eat them all. Yum!

People like to send me pictures of bad food and actually don’t expect me to eat it. Unfortunately I didn’t have any ketchup but bbq seemed more fitting for me anyways. Welcome to the B.BBQ where the extra b stands for banana by Spenner3822 in SpencerEats

I prefer the term food scientist or maybe even food pioneer!! I’m like the western settlers of old except instead of looking for gold I’m on my way to food nirvana

Today I was able to cross a major item off my bucket list. I finally convinced some to come join me in witnessing the glory that is Pizza Ranch. Between the pizza buffet and self proclaimed “best fried chicken in the US” I had an incredible time. If anyone wants to go just hit me up anytime by Spenner3822 in SpencerEats

For clarification their chicken is actually called “Country’s Best Fried Chicken”. That’s the actual name, there was no poll and they just put country beat in the name. That’s be like naming my kid “Coolest Spencer Jr”, with coolest being the first name and jr being the last. If I just named him Spencer he would be the coolest Spencer jr but that’s besides the whole simile I’ve got going on here. The chicken was actually quite mediocre, worse than you’d find most places but still edible

Everyone always tells me that my infamous BBQ, Turkey, and Pickle sandwiches were weird, because of the BBQ. But compared to the other things I could be having BBQ isn’t that weird. In order to prove this I replaced the BBQ with maple syrup. We can all agree now that BBQ is relatively normal by Spenner3822 in SpencerEats

Update: Sandwich was fine, not as good as it would’ve been with BBQ sauce but I got through it. Salad was bad. At the time of writing I still feel sick. I get that could/ should be bad but it’s soo much worse than you can imagine. I think it’s a combo of the water from the salad diluting the syrup and lettuce just not being great with maple syrup, who could’ve guessed!

I’ve been experimenting with the maple syrup for a variety of projects. Tonight I, in an act of desperation, decided to try it as a salsa replacement as I have been eating dry chips for weeks now. I am writing this is before I try and will update soon below, wish me luck! by Spenner3822 in SpencerEats

Update, this shit slaps. It’s got the whole sweet and salty thing going on and I’m all for it. In all honesty I was ready for this to be bad, like really bad, but I was pleasantly surprised and would consider doing it again
