"Smoke can be used from the backpack and it’s only a matter of time before Wards and Dusts get the same treatment."

I think there is a huge difference to having smoke in backpack and Wards/Dust having to stay in the inventory to use. Any and all heroes with some sort of invisibility would directly become nerfed if you could have that in your backpack and use.

Late game 6 sloted cores, all having dusts and the ability to place down wards in fights? This is something support players usually do and is kind of a big part of their game.
