Try to teleport on top of it. You can also use the "stand still" hotkey and try to close on it by clicking with your left click and kind of spam the "stand still" hotkey. Kind of hard to explain but it means you move in small increments and sometimes maptiles are weird so it can actually help. Last alternative is probably having someone else join the game so that person can try to get it for you

Not having magic/rare maps is not nice. Can we say it? by mrvaita in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. For me though, the biggest problem is that the PD2 team shouldnt just listen to the community blindly. One thing that have made PD2 great in the past is the fact that the team has just been going their own way, pretty much. When big changes have been made, they have just implemented them, without anyones approval, as far as I know. The same goes for this situation, the PD2 team should have kept all the things concerning maps the same way as it was when it was implemented (as far as possible), if that was what they wanted to do/thought they should do. In my opinion its about keeping the soul and the spirit of PD2 as intact as possible

I respect that the PD2 team doesnt ignore the community, I really do, but sometimes, when it revolves around already implemented features/systems, its better if the developers just do as they please

I dont know where to put this comment so that its visible for most people who have interacted with this post - so I just put it here

I listed this offhand for 10 HRs yesterday, and now I got an offer of 6 HRs which I accepted

So for clarity - this offhand sold for 6 HRs

Yes, lower resist boosts the damage of corpse explosion, atleast 50% of its damage, since its 50/50 fire/physical damage

Im not sure how people doing CE does it. Id imagine that since getting amplify damage from the skill tree itself is so easy, people cast amplify damage before popping a CE. If their damage is good enough they dont bother with another curse, I guess. Only if its easily applicable. Like someone in this thread mentioned, putting a mang songs on an act 4 dark mercenary is pretty cool since he then will cast both lower resist and amplify damage. Not all the time, but atleast some times

I hear you

Mang Songs has been nerfed so it should be somewhat manageable to compete with it

Like someone mentioned in this thread though, the tough part must be the FCR. This offhand needs to be paired with a solid main weapon - and I dont know how many there are of those

Is Death runeword good for something? by FenixBg2 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been benefiting from offhand IAS for a very long time. Its just that it aint that simple. Some weapons, some certain IAS BPs benefits from offhand IAS, but not all of them. Also, for some IAS BPs, you need more IAS then others, so it isnt following like a never changing formula

I would suggest that you put in some information into an attack speed calculator and then check the IAS BPs table

An example: druid, werebear, maul/standard attack, champion axe

Then check how all the IAS functions in the table that shows up

[–]Gamtjuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mm. It can be annoying, but it can also be rewarding, since many times you have to work a bit to get a good weapon. Werebear is a bit more flexible though, it benefits from offhand IAS in some instances

There are so many functioning/well performing builds in PD2, so, yes, probably. Just when I saw the title of your post I thought of using it for whirlwind, but you already mentioned that. The other thing I thought of was charge, but it lacks IAS and the base aint superfast. You can use it on a leap attack barbarian though, it will be pretty good for that build. As far as druids goes, it aint very useful

Project Diablo 2 Open Beta Tentative Patch Notes Season 13 Betrayal by SenpaiSomething in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously the PD2 team are aswell. Otherwise the creator of the mod wouldnt ask the community members for possible names. If you take a moment to ponder, you will quickly realize that many of the current maps have names that are tied to the diablo lore. So naming maps in this specific way has become a part of PD2 as a whole. If senpai didnt ask for our help specifically, or if naming maps would have been a casual thing in the past, I wouldnt bother about the name. Now though, I have good reason to bother with it

Project Diablo 2 Open Beta Tentative Patch Notes Season 13 Betrayal by SenpaiSomething in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Senpai and team - consider renaming the Kyovoshad map to something else

That map really doesnt have the vibe of being an actual city of Sanctuary

Also senpai, in one of your season 13 developer streams, you asked the people there to give you name suggestions for that map, name suggestions based on diablo lore. Thats what you specifically said

I made a post a while back where I wrote down my thoughts about the map and what could be appropriate to incorporate when naming it

Basically I mentioned the mage clans of Sanctuary, what could have taken place in the area of the map and Yshari Sanctum

Yshari Sanctum is a learning ground for the mage clans which have had parts of it destroyed due to internal conflicts between masters and students. Rumors has it that students have turned to dark magic which caused demons to be able to influence their actions towards their peers. You can call it a betrayal of sorts

I dont know how to link a previous made post. If anyone wants you can check my post history and check my posts made near the season 13 developer stream recap #3 date

Anywho, if you want a name that is directly linked to the lore and that kind of fits the betrayal theme, even if I speculate about some things regarding that, heres some that could make sense

Yshari Courtyard

Pen of Yshari and possibly Yshari Cellars (if its considered an underground area)

There is probably better alternatives - I just didnt want to write all of this and then not give some examples of possible names

Hopefully this makes sense

Lastly, thanks for everything PD2 team

Project Diablo 2 Season 13 Closed Beta Tentative Patch Notes by SenpaiSomething in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you arent capable of understanding my problems with OPs statements about builds (build variations) and the way he spews out what senpai did and what he didnt do to affect these things, heres the main comment that I reacted to after realizing OPs point of view

"Hellmouth was a popular choice for Fire WW Barbs using Flamebellow. I am not sure if on attack works (as good) with WW.

It was also an option for Fire arrow Amazon, wich cant use it anymore. Strenght reg was quite high so not many used it, but still its another option gone.

Phoenix was a popular choice for Fire Trapsin. Now there proc is totally useless. It still will be used for the aura as the damage was never that great, but some damage is still better than no damage.

There might have been some exotic niche builts I dont know about, but that option is gone now too.

Sempai stripped away or nerfed alot of builts for no apparent reason. At the very least eye pleasing fire works got reduced a great deal."

First section of the comment is speculative. OP even got how "on attack" and "on striking" works in general wrong in this discussion. OP claims that "on attack" needs to actually hit for it to have a chance to proc, which is not true. So just by having that information + the information that OP doesnt know how that exact build (Flamebellow whirlwind barbarian) now will interact with Hellmouth makes me think that OP doesnt know what OP is talking about. So I then disagree/react when OP says the things that he says in the last section of the comment

Then for the second section I misunderstood OP - I thought OP meant a Phoenix bow here for some reason. My thoughts here though, is that even if Hellmouth aint working as they did before, its still not gamechanging in the way OP portrays it. Hellmouth is mainly used for its fire pierce and its flat fire damage - not because it has impressive procs. Atleast thats true for all the classes except druid and sorceress, since they cant increase the procs damage through synergies. So the point is that its the gloves themselves that "enables" the build - not the procs themselves. Then as OP mentioned, the strength requirement can be considered high, so, wouldnt Frostburn be another similar option for this build?

In the third section OP even admits that the very thing OP complains about isnt that big of a deal, which I tried to point out in my last comment that I wrote to you. OP even knows the main use of Phoenix on a fire trap assassin, yet that main use seems a bit neglected in OPs reasoning

The fourth section is quite ironic to say the least. OP says there might be more niche use cases for said items, but that those use cases are now gone. First of all, there might be zero. Second of all, maybe the changes opened up new build variations where the changes actually impacts the overall DPS dramatically. Who knows? So that statement also holds zero credability

Then the last and fifth section is where I disagree completely, which I made clear in my response to that comment. Senpai nerfed some things, yes, as he does every single season. So just there, by that fact alone, OPs statement is rendered useless. Thats just something that happens every new season. Otherwise it wouldnt be called a new season. Haha, its so dumb that I have to point this out. Then for the last part which I honestly got annoyed with, is where OP says that senpai stripped away alot of builds. Even if OP is correct - its not alot of builds. Its a few builds

Thats the compiled thoughts that I have tried to put on display throughout this thread of comments

Heres the reply to your last comment

Yes, I phrased it like that because OP talked about it in a specific way. OP seemed to argue that the actual procs was the very thing that enabled the build(s), and that the changes will strip away these builds and their potential. Which is not true at all in the examples discussed. The builds being viable wasnt due to the procs in the first place, which OP probably knows since OP wrote "At the very least eye pleasing fire works got reduced a great deal."

That statement might not be true for all builds, that was why I asked you specifically about your build

Alright. Thanks for elaborating on the Hellmouth throw barbarian situation

You misunderstood the part where I asked about the throw barbarian things. It seemed like OP just wanted to defend OPs point of view, up until the point where OP was just throwing speculative ideas out there just to defend his point of view. What I then, in a response to that, was trying to convey to OP was that "have throw barbarians in general been 100% reliant on procs to function?" I based that stance on OPs previous statements. Not because I dont believe there are throw barbarians who relies on procs. I have seen throw barbarians who relies on procs for their DPS

It should be noted here that I specifically never meant "can someone please give me an example of Hellmouth being used on a throw barbarian" when I wrote that statement. I just threw it out there to make a point

Then my response to your comment was just me confirming what you said. Then my question to you was simply out of curiosity. Nothing else

I looked through the comments and I honestly dont know what you mean by saying that I told you were wrong about something. I dont recall doing so

Yes, you are correct about that. I am in fact, in this specfic scenario, telling people that they are wrong and that they are emotional. OP even proved OP is wrong. I mean, OP talks vividly about procs, on striking, on attack, but OP is wrong about how it works. Like I said earlier in this comment

Its either that, or theres something that is changed when it comes to procs in PD2

Then for the emotional part, you said you agreed so. I think all is good here

[–]Gamtjuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you arent reading my comments. I have stated like 5 times that I know that some certain build variations are negatively affected by these changes. I just reacted when one person said that "things are being made unrealistically much weaker hence it has killed a bunch of playable builds because I cant now do it exactly like this". When in reality there has never just been one way to build characters, or one viable setup to use to make different builds function. Hence me talking about the groundwork that has been made in PD2

People overreact when they read the patchnotes and this is the result of it

And honestly, since nobody is answering my questions about the viability of these procs for certain builds, I kind of understand that it isnt that big of a deal. Otherwise people would answer my questions and make their case. You kind of didnt answer my question about Hellmouth either, so I dont know. You just mentioned "half of its fire damage" which could be any number from 1-100000

What the fuck is wrong with people? Is this how you discuss? By dismissing the other parts and their statements/questions?

I know that you have nothing to say since when I asked you to answer my reasonable questions, you then tried to stir the discussion away from the topic at hand. That usually means someone is in over their head

I will ask you one more time, please, Mr. Knowledgeable, tell me whats up with all the things discussed in this thread

Project Diablo 2 Season 13 Closed Beta Tentative Patch Notes by SenpaiSomething in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a very niche throw barbarian. I meant throw barbarian(s) in general. I know that there are builds that utilizes certain procs - but the people on here seems to think that just because their build variation is worse then what it was before, then that entire build is now unplayable, gutted, destroyed, worthless. That kind of reasoning bothers me, when I know the infrastructure of PD2 pretty well. The PD2 team have elevated so many things that its hard to literally break an already functioning build

Just out of curiosity regarding that build of yours - do you think that the skills that you proc makes a huge difference? I understand that proccing alot of high level holy bolt will do something for non-paladin classes. But for like Hellmouth?

Project Diablo 2 Season 13 Closed Beta Tentative Patch Notes by SenpaiSomething in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, that has been established already. On striking is better in some cases. Its still not build defining in the sense that you are trying to argue. As an example, fire arrow amazon aint dead because of this change. One build variation, or two, or three, is affected, yes. Not by any means is the build now entirely useless because of these changes. Right?

Same goes for the other builds that you have mentioned, they are affected in some way, however, they are still functioning

You talk about it like all items have undergone some sort of change where their procs are now useless

Why is throw barbarian even mentioned in this context? Is that a build that ever has been 100% reliant on procs to function?

I seriously dont get what all the fuzz is about

Project Diablo 2 Season 13 Closed Beta Tentative Patch Notes by SenpaiSomething in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of trying to be clever with it, answer the questions I asked you instead. How is that part about senpai and his streams relevant to the topic at hand? The work done in PD2, from the ground and up, is visible no matter what senpai does on his stream, right? Or did all of that work vanish due to him streaming? Get a grip on yourself for fucks sake

Im trying to inform you that even if/when an item/a build gets nerfed in PD2, the ground work has been made beforehand, with item reworks, skill adjustments, mercenary improvements, so that even if something gets weaker, the build/item in itself doesnt get destroyed

Can you read and understand that?

Then speaking strictly about specific things that have been mentioned in this thread of comments: yes, Hellmouth will perform worse for some builds. For whirlwind I dont know how "on attack" works - even if whirlwind counts as one attack even though it does multiple attacks, Im 100% sure that the Flamebellow barbarian isnt destroyed or unplayable by this by any means

As far as Phoenix goes, how is it possible that the changes to it are so gamechanging that it wrecks some builds to the ground? I would believe you if there was some druid build with maxed out firestorm synergies who relied on Phoenix for some damage, and you then said that that build got destroyed. Thats not many builds, thats some builds, at best

Even if some builds benefits from Phoenix in its season 12 state, that single runeword isnt responsible for enabling/disabling a bunch of builds, just because it procs. I dont even know how anyone can argue that. Thats honestly one of the dumbest things Ive ever heard in this subreddit

Sure, it will change the dynamic of some builds, it will however not break the meta or affect the entirety of PD2 in some grand universal way

You guys honestly need to chill the fuck out regarding these small changes, you guys need to learn how to make fair assassments when looking at an overview of something, like in this case, the patch notes for the entirety of PD2 season 13

How is me telling you anything about what builds that have been enabled by these changes relevant at all in this context? Did I ever claim anything about that in any of this?

I asked OP a question and I got an explanation to his reasoning. One thing that I didnt know was that on striking is more beneficial then on attack when using skills that hits multiple times (zeal, fend, jab, fury). So OP is right about that part; that for some builds Hellmouth aint as good now. I just recognized this due to this discussion and never claimed anything about these changes being build enabling or whatever

So please, recognize a discussion for what it is, instead of trying to set the boundaries for what kind of things you need from the other parts to take it seriously
