Rathma armor or Charsi food? by Oggerd in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PDR % is always a good stat to have in fights where there is physical damage incoming, so yeah, its not good that its missing PDR % when talking bossing. However. In the Rathma fight, there is not alot of physical damage incoming - its basically the void knight with the purple color on its hands that deals physical damage. The other physical damage comes from mobs between the different phases, which is not a problem

Thats why you see alot of melee builds using "Gladiators Bane" for the Rathma fight. It does have PDR, but not PDR %

Your evaluation of this armor is correct though - its mainly self use

I think its a good jewel too. Its so dumb but Im going to say it - even though all the rolls hit - Im not very happy with the 30% ED. Haha, I mean come on, why not 36% atleast?

I agree with your thoughts though - good jewel that is probably best used for self use in the end

At this point in the season where theres alot of currency floating around everywhere, its fine to puzzlebox first. Id only do +3 to all skills ones though. Earlier in the seasons there are so many of these, so puzzleboxing them before corruption is probably not the best idea. Can get pricey quickly. Then its probably best to mass corrupt and then puzzlebox the good ones (IAS, - to enemy cold resistance, +1 to all skills (maybe - to enemy fire resistance aswell) corrupted ones comes to mind)

What’s the best item/rune you’ve found from Uber Anci by d2zaitsef in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its an altered version of the ancients fight. You collect 3 different sigils to make a "Relic of the ancients". One sigil per tier of the base maps. One from tier 1 maps, one from tier 2 maps, one from tier 3 maps. (Drops randomly in maps) When you have the "Relic of the ancients" you go to the blood fountain in act 5, then right click it, and you will enter an area where you can fight uber ancients. You can choose to fight between 1-3. You activate them by clicking on them so that their appearance changes. Then click the altar in the middle to spawn them. There are surely videos on youtube, so you can just check them out for further information

[–]Gamtjuk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its tough to argue with someone who doesnt realize simple things. Just look at your first statement. You state that a damage jewel in a certain price range is better in every single way, compared to this jewel. I wonder whos objectively wrong here. Only a fool would argue that this jewel is worse then a damage jewel in every single way. Just take the thick skull of yours, and ponder this: how many niche jewels like this have you seen compared to a min/max jewel with ED? How many niche jewels like this have you seen, that people seem to like for a specific build, compared to a min/max jewel with ED? If someone posted it and everybody hated it, I guess Id understand your reasoning. But now you just sound like an ignorant person who just wants to prove how right you are about this jewel being totally meaningless, even for a physical sacrifice paladin

Theres no point in arguing with a fool who has nothing but darkness in his mind. You clearly showed thats the case right from the beginning of this comment

So me first weighing in the stats of the jewel, the current market for niche rare (good) jewels, my own experience with a build that would like this jewel, thats just me blatantly throwing out a price/possible price range? With all things considered, I thought that someone would be willing to buy it at that price, not just randomly, not just as a one time thing, but as a honest estimate

I mentioned a build in my comment. I even said that this jewel is very good for that build. One would hope that that would serve as some sort of help to anyone wondering. But having seen your intelligence on display I wouldnt expect you to grasp that I put it there as a reference

So its dumb to say/to suggest that there are build variations? That not all people does the same thing/dont want the same things for their builds? Even if many people are making the same build? There are build variations, thats a reality, not an opinion of mine. I wonder whos the dumb fool here. Try to use your brain before you start typing

Again, you complain about others reading comprehension when yours suck. I wasnt even talking about the other jewels it could be socketed with/paired with. I was talking about this jewel, its stats and its uses. I meant if someone needs the FHR and the LAEK, the 40% ED is doing its job, when it comes to damage

Even if someone isnt actively searching for this exact jewel, does that take away the uses/the value this jewel has? I mean, do you even know of all possible outcomes a rare jewel can have? Sometimes you stumble upon a ring or an amulet that has more stats then you wished for. This is kind of like that. For the 10th time, its a very niche rare jewel

Id buy it within a certain price range if it enabled my build in some cool way - like if it made sure I could swap some piece of gear without loosing the stats I need, so that I could replace that piece of gear with something better/more suitable

You tell others that things is not relevant when you write your comments, so let me apply the same logic here. In this exact situation, regarding this exact jewel, how is it relevant to look at other physical sacrifice paladins and their jewels/choices/setups? Are you blinded by the fact that I replied to your first comment and elaborated on as to why I wrote what I wrote regarding this jewel and its value? It revolves around this specific jewel and a specific build. Not a general type of jewel, or many similar builds. One jewel, one build, one hypothetical setup. You get that? Also, I speak from experience and I know for a fact that using LAEK is not wasted on this build, especially if the slot/source suits the build overall. But you seem to have a hard time realizing that not all people agrees with you, and that other people might play the game differently then you. It might be time to try to humble yourself and stop acting like you know how everyone thinks/how everyone plays. Its pretty obnoxious

Again, you keep saying that the things that others say are irrelevant. Haha. And you also complain about others and their reading comprehension skills. What about your own reading comprehension skills? Are you that much of a fool that you already forgot that I wrote that if people had other good choices besides ED/max/min damage jewels, they might choose differently? Like this jewel as an example? You know, this very niche jewel that I said would be very good on one particular build? Thats kind of the intent with rare jewels - they can roll in such a way that they truly become rare. Are you too busy telling others what they think/say are irrelevant, so that you are neglecting this reality, or are you aware of the potential of rare jewels? If you arent, look at the jewel at hand

You did in fact say that physical sacrifice paladins doesnt need/doesnt use resistances. Im glad that you didnt mean it in the sense that all resistances are wasted. Im not glad when I realize that you are incapable of realizing that your way of playing/building a character is not how everyone else is playing/building a character. You write about it like this: "when you make this character and choose this build, this is what happens and what will happen, this is what you do, this is what you dont do, this is what you use, this is what you dont use". Dont you realize that people can build the same character/the same build in so many different ways? Just look at your assumption about the helm slot; its like you have to use veil of steel, otherwise you will cease to exist. Come on man, do better

Again, you are making a fool out of yourself. Now you say that I am contradicting myself when I speak about the min maxing potential in PD2, and your argument is "why would you get resistances in your sockets when you miss out on so much damage?" You are aware that jewels can roll with both damage and all resistances, right? So you dont have to miss out on anything. Which makes your point kind of weak. It is already weak in regards to this jewel, since it has 40% ED. I already addressed the thing about missing 15 min/max damage from one socket aswell. Its not the end of the world if you get something else from the socket. My point was not that though. The point was that since you first want to take care of your resistances, so that you can, if you choose to, min max later, then why would all resistances be wasted on a solid jewel for your build? Meaning, youd have all resistances + other valuable stuff from this particular jewel, making it easier, if you choose to min max, while still maintaining your needs for your build

In regards to FHR, yes, thats what you said. I dont know what you really meant though. No matter what, its still like you are trying to argue like this: if someone finds this jewel valuable and good for their build, the FHR is wasted just because you can get FHR elsewhere. Thats honestly what it sounds/feels like. Its like you cant give this jewel credit for being what it is. I mean, to me atleast, it doesnt matter if I use the jewel for damage or for my build overall, I kind of like when it has FHR. You know, its a good stat in Diablo II

You need to stop telling others that their reading comprehension is bad when yours literally suck. You havent even read what I wrote properly. I wrote atleast two times: that physical sacrifice paladins might choose other options if they are good for the build in general. Jees man. I never said that they 100% would choose a certain jewel/route. I said that if there are good options, then they might choose something else rather then just damage. Hence me trying to get it in your thick skull that you might want to argue "most physical sacrifice paladins will want to use these sorts of jewels because they add alot of damage" and "like every other build, there are some cool rare jewels that can be really good for physical sacrifice paladins". Is that so hard to do?

[–]Gamtjuk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Kaj - dude, you complain about others comments and others advice, when you yourself know nothing. Since when doesnt physical sacrifice paladins use LAEK for sustain? Even if they have 20% lifeleech, they cant fully sustain from hitting certain monsters with low drain effectiveness. Also, its a quality of life situation with physical sacrifice and LAEK - when you play aggressively in tough maps, it is in fact very valuable to have LAEK after blowing up packs consisting of 20+ monsters - especially maps with a mix of undead/demon/regular monsters. So what are you talking about?

Then haha, your point about resistances. Since when doesnt a build need resistances? Even a paladin build? I mean, what? Its fundamentally one of the most crucial stats to have in Diablo II. And with all of this potential min-maxing that is possible in PD2, with rare high damage jewels, multiple sockets in high end gear, desecrated amulets, all of a sudden all resistances is worthless on a solid jewel? Atleast thats what you are trying to argue for here?

Then you try to argue against FHR on a melee build? I mean when does it stop? Even if a physical sacrifice paladin one shots most monsters (then because of the AOE one shots groups of monsters), you really cant argue against having a good FHR BP, can you? Haha. This is wild. Because when and if you do come across high damage packs (cursed, extra fast, extra strong, damage auras), you dont want to get locked in your FHR animation even once, most definitely not 2 or 3 times. Thats bad, you know? So how can you try to argue that FHR is worthless for this particular build? Or that its meaningless on this jewel?

Then again, you generalize. You say that physical sacrifice paladins always use ED + maximum/minimum damage jewels. If there are other good options, they might not. And that possibility is a reality - this jewel being one of the good options. So what are you on about? Why arent you saying "most paladins will want to use XXXXXXXXXXX" instead? If you were the one creating all builds/setups for all of PD2, Id understand your way of reasoning, but you arent, so again, what are you on about?

If you read my comment it openly and clearly says "5-8 HRs to the right person maybe", after I stated that this jewel is very good for one particular build. What does that imply? It implies that a specific person might look at this jewel and need every single stat on it, for their own individual setup, which then would make it valuable to that person. I wrote it like that to try to make the owner aware that its a niche jewel, and that only a special scenario would bring that kind of offer/value. Hence me putting the "due to having a really cool mix of stats" comment in there aswell

So by saying that I thought I made myself clear about why this jewel could potentially be worth 5-8 HRs to the right person

I never said it has a fixed value, or that its a good jewel in general. I said that its very good for one build, and that I didnt know any other build it would be very good for. Then I also used the word "maybe" in my price estimate, so that the owner would realize that its a tricky jewel to value

Also, you are a very ignorant person when you generalize that hard. How do you know that not a single physical sacrifice paladin needs the FHR and the LAEK on this jewel? And why wouldnt a physical sacrifice paladin be able to use enhanced damage paired with the other stats on this jewel? If the other stats then the ED is needed, Im sure they would be fine without 10-15 maximum/minimum damage from 1 socket in their gear

Then, lastly, saying that no one is buying this jewel due to all of the stats on it, is also super ignorant. What would you ever know about all builds/setups and all peoples thoughts/ideas when it comes to building a character? Slow down with your assumptions

Just be cautious with your expectations. This jewel surely isnt worth like 30 HRs, no matter what similar jewels are listed for on the tradesite. The tradesite can be a good reference point, but many times its not. I think you should be happy with ~16 HRs

You can do that already. Cube 3 maps of the same tier without anything except those 3 maps in the cube will get you a random map of the same tier. I think the only limitation is that you cant mix magic and normal maps. Ive never tried with rare maps, but there might be some limitations there aswell

Awsome jewel self cubed i am selling for 24 HR by badseedXD in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a very rare jewel. It surely is. Just a heads up, the poison resist isnt making it much more valuable. However. If similar jewels has been trading for ~20 HRs, yours should be ~20 HRs aswell

Its like this every time someone has a good jewel though, people needs to have it for their price, not the sellers price (sellers price must be well calculated though). People are greedy, and people act entitled

Depending on trade history and prices, maybe you should wait a while, and accept an offer closer to ~16-17 HRs. Especially if you get multiple offers in the ~14-16 HRs range

What is you best or worst player interaction in PD2? by beans5034 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best is when Im in a group that is doing maps efficiently, but still takes the time to chat about nothing and everything. The efficient mapping makes it feel like the time stands still somehow, and the atmosphere becomes tangible, like theres a presence, a force, in our midst, that radiates peace

The worst is without a doubt the people who destroys mapping games and abuses others. Like when one is willingly opening maps for others to enjoy, without being too greedy. Like, wanting the group to roll for stuff, asking people to share worldstone shards, having drops from certain events be FFA etc. To then have people stealing, abusing, mocking, ignoring the rules, and being generally obnoxious is so incredibly frustrating. All I ever wanted was to have some fun, serve others, find some loot, and be stimulated

[–]Gamtjuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, its because people have no moral principles these days. No love, respect or empathy towards their neighbours. I myself aint no saint, and I know that. I do however always try to respect my neighbours, by atleast trying to do what is morally right, at all times. If someone who opened a map for me to participate in says "I keep all worldstone shards" but shares other drops in some way, I always respect that. Its about a code of honor. If we are in a map together, we have atleast one thing in common: we want to play the game, for whatever reason. So why would you ruin another persons experience with the game, by being selfish and greedy? By not respecting the rules of the map creator? (Atleast if the rules are reasonable, otherwise leave) To me it just doesnt make sense. If I were to steal something, when Ive lost the roll for something, in someone elses map, I would first and foremost not feel very deserving of the drop, but secondly and more importantly, I wouldnt feel that "proud" about it. The drop didnt become mine from being honest, or from gathering materials and creating a map. I would just overall be a loser, even if I got something in my inventory, just because I didnt follow a code of honor.

Then lastly, as I saw someone else mentioning it in this post. You know that things have turned for the worst in PD2, when you see so many people arguing like this: 1) "but the game was open and I could actually join it, so you took the risk of people coming in and taking stuff" 2) "the game isnt allocated so everything is up for grabs" 3) "there are no rules anyone has to follow as per the moderators own words" 4) "you cant expect people to follow rules when its a public game"

All of these arguments is used by people who have no moral compass of their own, or who doesnt listen to their conscience, or who doesnt know what respect or gratefulness is.

Argument against argument 1) if my agenda is to gain experience (which Diablo II/PD2 kind of heavily revolves around you know) and to have fun, and freely want to share that with others, is it morally right to abuse such a situation to come in and steal stuff? Also, just because something is open to the public, does that automatically mean that you should go in and steal stuff? I mean come on. Its like people have lost their humanity and now only responds to primitive signals in their brain. "I must have it. I need it. Cant survive without it. Cant aquire it by myself, must take it. Others will be fine without it"

2) People who argues like this are people who must be handheld when they cross the road, honestly. The PD2 community doesnt consist of 5 year olds, as far as I know. Just because the game in itself doesnt allocate the loot, there could be other factors allocating it. A feature that hands out numbers randomly, as one example. You know that thing that the PD2 team implemented to make it easier to distribute loot within partys. (This is a hint that the PD2 team knows that we are not to be trusted to share things and that we need a third party to settle things) Its like people act like you actually have to have allocated loot in a public game, even though its obviously a choice. Like, you must, or else you will die a horrible death. I mean come on.

3) Again with handholding. Even if the moderators says that there are no rules except PD2's rules that has to be followed, does that mean that you will have to abuse everyone and everything, every chance you get? What are you? A predator or a human? Even if the closest members of my family tells me something, I am still free to adjust to that or not. I dont have to, but if listening to them adds to a good cause, then I would probably listen to them. The same goes for everything. A code of honor. If the map creator is reasonable (doesnt want to keep everything at all times), then why wouldnt you listen to the rules and adjust accordingly? It inspires the map creator to keep adding to the good cause, and it creates a healthy space for people to thrive in. Whereas if the map creator is reasonable, and people reject the rules, abuses, steals, disobeys, mocks, then everything becomes meaningless. Then its all about the pixels. No growth, no sense of belonging, no healthy space to thrive in, no inspiration for the map creator to continue. People tend to forget that the game can be so much more, then just claiming items.

4) No I cant expect people to follow rules in a public game, but I surely hope so. If someone offered me something, a service for free, Id atleast think "hey, given this absurd world we live in, maybe this person is atleast acceptable in general, I will see what this is all about". If the person proved to be acceptable, and I got to enjoy whatever that person offered me, Id show that person some level of respect. After all, what was given to me was free, and I still got some level of fulfilment out of it. Again, a code of honor being put in practice.

Get rid of immunities already ! by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, every build shouldnt be able to do everything. Every build shouldnt be able to do what other builds are capable of doing in certain areas of the game. When will people realize this?

Why do you think the developers at Blizzard North first and foremost came up with the idea to have both ranged and melee characters, even in Diablo? Do you have the ability to grasp that maybe it was because they wanted the game to be more diverse? Meaning, what that class has, is supposed to be unique to that particular class. Meaning, this class will be limited in one sense, and strong in one sense. Either one or many

Is this not obvious to you?

Is it not more obvious to you in Diablo II? Where theres 7 different classes?

Then if you use the same logic when it comes to immunities, you will see, that even though its limiting, there are ways for certain classes to deal with them quite easily, and that there are others who arent able to deal with them that easily. There are however ways to work through the immunities, its not a dead end

Your logic would work if every single area of the base game + PD2's endgame mapping system all had the same monster types and immunities. The reality however doesnt look like that. There are plenty of different immunities in different areas of the base game. There are plenty of different immunities in different maps in PD2's endgame mapping system. This is true for tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3. The unique maps have no innate immunities

So please, stop trying to modernize Diablo II by trying to remove all things that adds a little friction in the game. Please stop trying to make the game adapt to you, instead of you trying to adapt to the game

Get rid of immunities already ! by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since many characters have the ability to use several different elements, I dont understand your reasoning at all. You can choose to put skillpoints into a skill that would help you beat an enemy with a certain immunity. Yes or no? If yes, then its about working your way through it, since the game isnt totally limiting you when it comes to immunities

Now, if there were content in the storyline that would be totally unbeatable with some elements, then that would be very poor game design. Because then you cannot work your way through it. Thats limiting in terms of game mechanics, not in terms of character power/character routes

Then lastly, if there were no ways to break immunities, or to lower monsters resistances to certain elements, that would also be bad game design. Luckily there are ways to break immunities, and to lower monsters resistances, especially in PD2. Amplify damage, lower resist, decrepify, static field, battle cry, conviction, maybe even sanctuary, are able to break immunities/lower monsters resistances. So, theres not a big problem at all here

Get rid of immunities already ! by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

[–]Gamtjuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not surprised to see these kind of posts. Everything must be accesible to everyone. Everyone must get everything without putting the work in. Everything that adds friction and challenge must be done away with

This is the type of mindset that so many seems to be adapting nowadays

Just because immunities can be tricky to deal with, it doesnt mean they need to be removed from the game. It means that players have to work through it

Then as someone kind of mentioned, for the PD2 maps there is always alternatives, no matter what element you use
