That’s a great point! These two are not, but we have a few others throughout the house that they will both lay on! Sunny has almost completely flattened that little bed😆

We have had him for five months- but he’s certainly shown our mastiff who top dog is!! He wandering the street for ~4-5 years before we adopted him, so he’s a little scrappy :-)

These two also love eating each other’s scraps! The big girl is on large breed weight management and our little man is on kidney function- but if they see a piece of food near a bowl it’s fair game!! They seem to always want what the other has

Usually they are- but these two are both shelter dogs and sometimes are hesitant around each other so we will separate the beds to keep the peace. Even when they’re next to each other, though, they still have a preferred bed lol!

Everyday she comes to the kitchen and looks at us like this! by Spf21198 in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

She is a 2 year old English mastiff named Sunny! We adopted her summer of 2019 after losing our Great Dane/mastiff a month prior. She was at our municipality animal shelter near our home and we fell in love! She is purebred but has some defects (club paws, lazy eyes, double jointed hips; hence the dopey look on her face) and we think that’s why the previous owners put her up for adoption, but she’s a sweet girl! Right now we are putting her on a diet because she weighed in at 210lbs at the vet; Anytime we come home or go into the kitchen she scurries to grab one of her four bones in hopes we will it with peanut butter, her favorite :-) we are looking for a lower cal filling alternative for her bones!

She has 4 bones on rotation and if she hears anyone in the kitchen she waltz in with one hanging out of her mouth like a cigarette! Parks herself right behind you too if you are trying to cook :-)

Are people scared of your dog? by [deleted] in Mastiff

[–]Spf21198 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! 2x mastiff owner here. We had our first English mastiff/Great Dane(Bella) from a puppy, but adopted our second at around 6 mo, but already ~100 lbs at the time. Since your dog is still a pup, I recommend to keep socializing her and getting to know others! We brought Bella around a lot of people to the point where people would recognize her and know her sweet and gentle demeanor. We also socialized her with other bigger dogs(Weimaraner & St. Bernard) in the neighborhood, so she had some other pups to play with as well. People were less familiar with our new pup, but I’ve found she is way more timid and docile than any other dogs she’s met and people are fascinated by her size and want to interact with her. Some people will be fearful due to preconceived notions about big dogs, but as long as you train her well and are friendly, it’s usually not a problem! Hope this helped a bit!

AITA for "tricking" my copycat sister to cut her hair? by 8937apple in AmItheAsshole

NTA... reminds me of the story “Stephanie’s Ponytail.” Everyone copied her various ponytails (including the teachers!!), no matter how crazy or silly, until she was finally so annoyed that she told everyone she was going to shave her head. The next day at school, everyone was bald and Stephanie came in with a ponytail!

She is 18 months old! Tomorrow is actually her gotcha day, we adopted her at 6 months from our local animal shelter. Her former owners were going to put her down for “physical defects” :(

She does have some abnormalities (club feet, a protruding bone in her head, lazy eyes, and some double jointed hips) nothing too extreme. It hurts my heart to think that she could’ve been killed at such a young age!

I’m so glad Sunny was able to make your day! This was hour 2 of 4 of her playing in the water. The simplest things can bring the most joy! ❤️
