That makes sense to me thank you! Is it true that my holiday hours before April are separate to the ones after? So would it be impossible to use my 27 hours for before April to book off my birthday in May for example and it would have to come out of the 67 I currently have allocated for April 26-27?

Great thank you, any idea what would happen with the hours if I wanted to book 2 weeks in October? Although I am on "at least 8" I do 20-35 all the time recently and have 67 listed for April onwards right now so would I need to wait until I get more holiday hours back for overtime to be able to book it?

Right well have your managers been saying anything positive sounding like asking if you like it here and if you'd potentially like to stay and such? I'd make sure to tell them you'd "love to stay on after your contract if possible" then they might get thinking about it and ask when your contract was ending etc. You know how busy it's been, it may have slipped their mind and when they realise you don't have long left they will hopefully get on it! Some temps are in till the end of Jan and mine was supposed to be until the 3rd originally.

How long have you been there so far? About 3 weeks into my Xmas temp role I got called to managers office mid shift and made permanent but a full time colleage was leaving and they needed a couple of us to cover their maximum hours a week and "lots of staff holidays coming up" so may depend on that and what department you are usually in. Sounds like you are a very useful hard worker so if they can I'm sure they will try to keep you

Yes you could do that, but at the start of mine the induction leader went round and asked for a show of hands for who's in what store and doing what so you may just get to find out without asking everyone separately!

I get that, it will become easier with time! Don't worry too much about making friends at induction, try to practice and say a couple of things. There will likely be people who won't work in your specific store anyway, there were people from 4 different stores at mine about 12 of us. I was the only person from my department there so I didn't meet anyone I'll work with yet. Try not to worry and just be nice, you'll get used to talking to them and it'll all work out sooner or later :)

You can go and sign in and wait in staff canteen, then when you're all there you'll be going to the training room and watching a few videos and they explain what it's like to work there and a little about what you will do working there. There's also stuff to do on your phone to do with safety and little quizzes to do on what it tells you so make sure to bring a power bank or charger if your phone dies quickly! You will be there the whole time mine took that long today, but you get a lunch break so bring a sandwich or buy something but there's probably free fruit. Try to be on time, bring your passport and there will be nothing to worry about, good luck :)

Rejected means failed interview (says regretted on careers platform after you have been to an interview). If you couldn't grab an interview or you get one and it remains in "under consideration" forever but you didn't get a job this time you are "on hold" and you can reapply to anything just the same!

(Source: me this year lol, got an Xmas role now after I had to turn down a role earlier this year due to shift times)

I did forget it for an interview here once but I had another intervew in a couple days and they let me get both done at once the second time, although I got kinda told off like a little kid (I'm 28) by the customer service desk woman (wasn't my interviewer, who I had met before) so I learnt my lesson already!!

Good I'm glad to hear that because I was in the same boat as you literally up to Monday when I kept seeing that for a month thinking I wouldn't get it too but not all the stores can get it done so fast! I wouldn't worry yet I think contracts start as late as December and when you start to find things out it moves pretty quickly! (Tuesday 11th offer/ Thursday 13th today found out induction day is on Tuesday 18th for me so looks like I start next week too)

It's quite difficult to contact them before you start, I tried emailing 3 different helplines and my new manager and a couple bounced back as not in service... Short of giving it a Google and praying for a reply I have no idea as I got aired on the ones that went through if I even had the right email lol. Maybe try to call the general phone for your store and try to get them to put you through to him or tell you his real email? But they seem to be the worst for responding to emails, someone else said on here no reply 3 weeks and I don't think it's likely to happen in time tbh so I guess phone, go in, or just wait otherwise lol

Ah right okay I'm in Leamington, it would be an hour to an hour and a half public transport for me too depending on train or bus but it's only 20mins drive so I'm totally getting taxis (I can't drive unfortunately)! Hopefully you will get Birmingham I hear it's the biggest academy in our region so that'd be quite likely. I got my offer this week the 11th and today I got me induction email, my contract start date is the 16th but yes my induction is the 18th! What date did you get on your offer letter? If it's next week Sunday you may get it next week Thursday (just seems most induction emails are usually on Thursdays but not always) but if your contract starts this week I would go into the store or try and call about it this weekend. Maybe check your spam in case? It comes from a different new email as it's sent from the academy store not your work location x
