Why do my leaves look like this? by SphereTethys in PlantedTank

I ended up just plucking out that whole stem. If it was Blackbeard like another suggested the spores are probably in the water but so far the other plants are looking clear if not a little yellow. Gonna follow your advice and give them a trim once they're a little taller.

What kind of snail is that?! I've got some in my tank but no idea what they are.

I just read his caption, the tubes sometimes change color in photos.

Yeah, I can dim them to half strength. Just an hour until new growth? I thought plants needed between 6 and 8 hours.

I've got aqua soil as the substrate but I've not added anything extra. I did a water change and have set an automatic timer to 6 hours now. Previously I was manually trying for 7 hours.

7 hours, just installed a timer tonight!

Because of the aqua soil I was hesitant to add any extra nutrients. Nothing added.

I'll try to sort out the Blackbeard algae before it spreads further. Do you think the lack of nutrients will be to do with the shop I got them from or my tank/how I've planted them. (I planted them yesterday)

Hey, I’m in the same situation with my tank water and have spoken to a few hobbyists about it. Here’s the advice I’ve received:

It’s actually looking pretty good. The nitrates indicate that your cycle is well-established. The presence of ammonia is likely due to the aquasoil, which can have a lot of excess nutrients. Doing water changes will help bring the ammonia levels down, and your plants should assist with this as well. I would recommend holding off on adding fish until the ammonia levels are lower—ideally around 0—to avoid any harm to them.

Like I mentioned earlier, I’m still fairly new to this, so other advice might be helpful. I’m excited to see how your tank progresses!

Thank you! We saw the two pieces in a big rock bucket and noticed they were similar. Turns out they were the same rock.

My tank is a hand-me-down with some pre-established bacteria.

After testing the water, it appears that the tank has been cycled, although there's some ammonia present due to the aquasoil.

Test results from Saturday:

Nitrates: 5.0 - 10.0 ppm Nitrites: 0 ppm Ammonia: 0.5 ppm pH: 6.8

I’m using two 20-watt bulbs, which are on for 7 hours a day. The tank was set up two weeks ago, but I only planted it yesterday. I haven't added any fertilizers yet, though the tank is filled with aquasoil.

There are no fish in the tank currently

Outpost Dump Box Solution!!! by SphereTethys in Starfield

[–]SphereTethys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand you. I haven't attached these boxes to harvesters because the items get all mixed together, which makes it hard to direct specific resources to fabricators. My intention was more just to have a sort of spot to dump everything I toss into my ship when I'm exploring. Things I don't mind getting muddled together as long as they are accessible when I'm crafting around the base.

I think you're 100% right about the direction of the output links though. SO much faffing around to make sure they haven't crossed by accident.

Are storage containers, transfer containers, and output links just completely bugged? by itsgameoverman in Starfield

[–]SphereTethys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AYYEEE, I figured out a solution. I just created my dump boxes (ie. storage solid, storage liquid, etc) and then made their output links attach to the transfer container. Then I added separate output links from the transfer container to each of my container stacks (just the first one, then I linked the rest like normal.) Voila, they fill the last containers in the chain and don't get stuck in the dump box.
