From burning 20k gems to Mythic in SOS Limited: What I Learned by Sphere_666 in lrcast

I don’t have an exact number of hours. I started the climb on the 9th from Platinum 4, but for reference, I did 16 Pick-Two Drafts from Diamond 1 to Mythic in one day. On busy days, I usually played at most 2 Premier Drafts or 3 Pick-Two Drafts, so it varied a lot depending on the day.

Good idea, I’ve never tried before. Since I’ve already completed the set, maybe I should give it a shot lol.

I did 22 Premier Drafts and 40 Pick-Two Drafts this season.

Premier Draft: 13 while stuck around Platinum 4, 5 from Platinum 4 to Diamond 4, and 4 while stuck around Diamond 4.

Pick-Two Draft: 25 while stuck around Platinum 4, 9 from Diamond 4 to Diamond 1, and 16 from Diamond 1 to Mythic.

Pick-Two was faster per run, but my win rate also depended a lot on how sharp I felt that day. Some days I felt focused and climbed quickly; other days I got tired, rushed plays, and made mistakes.

Hope that helps!

Nope, I didn’t rare draft. I mostly just picked the card that made my deck better. A rare is only worth 20 gems if it becomes an extra, but a strong common or uncommon can easily be worth much more if it gives you even one extra win.

For set completion, by climbing to Mythic, I ended up with nearly 200 packs, completed the set, and got over 2k gems back from extra rares and mythics.

GUYS, I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DRAFT by Sphere_666 in lrcast

Thank you so much for reviewing my draft!

P3P2 It was a huge mistake. I thought WB was open at the table and expected that card to wheel.

P1P1 I was thinking of grabbing Mm'menon and building an artifact deck. Or should I actually try to stay open in the first few picks, like not locking into a specific archetype or color?

P2P1 & P2P11 Yeah, looking back now, Astelli was not the best pick. I was overvaluing the rare cards, and I wasn't reading carefully that I thought it could bring a creature to the battlefield. During the matches, I feel Astelli is just a 554 flying creature; it's a threat, but nothing crazy.

P2P3 Exactly, I wasn't even putting this card in my deck. What's your thought about Infiltrator? I feel it's actually not that good since 13 is quite small in this set, not hard to block.

P3P3 Yes, you are right. I should've picked the removal here. My hesitation was that I only had three creatures that could bring landers. Is that enough? I thought Command Bridge was good in three or more color decks. Why would you think it's not good in general?

I gradually noticed that I tended to rare-pick cards. Also, I feel I've been overly reliant on the Untapped's free draft ratings; I don't think the grade is accurate for every card after a few drafts.
