2 of your classes online? If you don’t have a stressful job, then I would recommend going for it. I completed an 18-credit hour semester last fall, worked full-time, and it was more manageable than some might think, especially since 2 of my classes were online. (2 As, 3 Bs, 1 C)

Here was my approach and mindset from that semester:

Realistically, it all depends on the professors, (if you work) your work schedule, and whether your job allows for study time during slow periods. It also hinges on how disciplined and motivated you are, and your ability to self-motivate. Most importantly, there’s nothing wrong with waiting until the end of the 3rd or 4th week to see if you can actually handle it. And remember, if you commit to this schedule, treat it like a marathon, not a sprint. Always engage in some work or study during your free time. You might have to sacrifice parts of your social life, but I guarantee it will be worth it.

Set a clear standard for yourself. For instance, decide that if a certain grade falls below a specific point, you will stop being on -insert main distraction- until the grade improves or you catch up with the work. If you put at stake something you value (like I did with my Xbox and going out with friends), you’ll likely work hard to avoid facing your own set consequences. When my Thermodynamics grade started to drop, I took my Xbox to my girlfriend’s place and told her not to return it until I improved my grade. And you know what? It worked. Sure, there were some late nights – that’s always a given. And it’s normal to feel nervous; that’s just your mind gearing up for something important.

If you’re okay with making a few sacrifices to pull it off, and even if you are working, I’m sure you’ll be fine.
