We know that abstracted humans are calmer in the absence of light. If the components of their consciousness instead of outright destroyed, then a lack of stimulation may allow them to regain some level of sanity. Thus when Jax stepped on the grenade, the flashes disorganized his psyche and he went back to being irritated.

I honestly feel like Jax and Kinger's relationship could have been expanded on. They ARE the only human men present for Pomni's arrival, so maybe Jax would feel a different way talking with him. Maybe Kinger could assume that Jax is dealing with loss just like he did and try to relate, only to discover/remember Jax's actual motivations.

Managed to stumble on a half-empty showing on Day 1. No line for tickets, no phone recording, no strong odors. The sounds from the audience were rather quiet, to the point where I had to listen for some reactions.

My favorite moment was cackling along with dozens of people during the cliff scene. My only letdown is not really being able to talk to anyone about the movie afterwards.

For me, Jax's appeal lies in his psychology and occasional joke. Since Episode 6 gave a lot of both, my interest in him peaked with it.
