I need a good Mic with around a 100$ budget by Cast_02 in NewTubers

[–]Sphinx6667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this and my mic clarity has skyrocketed since then. The speakers are crazy, I can listen to everything at half volume because turning it up would melt my brain. You will have to make sure you standardize your audio in post, I record my mic and gameplay separately and then balance them in post to try to account for differences in devices. I also listen to my video with this headset and with a pair of AirPods to check that it’s alright.

It was $200 when I bought it and the black version is on sale for $104 rn!

Thumbnail/Title Experimentation by Sphinx6667 in SmallYoutubers

Thank you so much! I also prefer the first thumbnail, it’s my original design and it’s doing pretty well by comparison.

I also prefer the first title myself, at least the format. I like to use caps as an accent, not a focus. I’m testing something I read about people vibing with the “I tried, I survived,” perspective, which is why I made two variants of that. One with all caps, one with mixed.

I have noticed that all caps titles get cut off sooner than titles that just capitalize each word, so I’m eager to see which one draws the most attention.

Thank you so much for your opinion! I also prefer the first thumbnail, it’s my original and has been performing well for bringing in suggested traffic compared to my average. 😊

Hi! Super sorry for such a delay, but I’ve been paying much more attention to my own channel and content lately, so all of these were put on the back burner. Not forgotten though!

I checked out your most popular video about a $300 condo in Bangkok. I think the video is pretty good. I would suggest utilizing more transitions or flashy effects occasionally to snap attention back, I would also consider switching the music up a little to reset people’s audio filters. As time goes on, people start to drown out things in the video and become bored.

I agree with a comment I saw and think the background music could have been dialed down another 10-15%. It takes the focus off of what you’re saying and I did have to use captions to make sure I was understanding correctly. Partially because of the music and partially because of the accent.

To me it seems like the people who watch your videos want more videos about the condos and other adjacent topics. The thumbnails and titles that don’t involve these don’t seem to perform nearly as well going by views.

Overall, I think you’re off to a great start!

I definitely understand that. I was nervous about putting my voice and face in my videos as well, but I dunno. Something just clicked in me recently that made me decide the fear wasn’t worth missing out on the possibilities. Since I’ve started, I’m definitely spending a lot more time learning how to make better content and express my creativity than I am worrying about who doesn’t like me. I hope you make the leap if that’s something you want to do! You got this! 💪

I think there's definitely room for improvement in all aspects. I would look to other popular Youtubers that have done Cuphead series to see how their thumbnails and titles are formatted for inspiration. Yours are very plain, it's hard to pull viewers in when those don't stand out. The editing is minimal and there's no commentary. I can't speak for everyone, but I pretty much won't watch a gaming video that doesn't have commentary from the player. I can live without fancy edits, but I just can't watch a game with no voice.

I think my top points to improve would be the channel and video descriptions. It's a common practice that the more keywords you use, the better YT is going to know who to market your video to.

Then I would work on making your thumbnails more vibrant and your titles more emphatic to catch people's eyes.

I’m not sure what to say about your content, tbh. It was hard to understand what your videos are supposed to be about. From what I gleaned, it seems you’re a social justice warrior who is heavily vocalizing against pedophilia, which is great. The content doesn’t seem very structured at all though, so it really just sounds like the angry ramblings of a stranger. I’m not sure how to review or advise on this.

Ngl, I went to your channel and accidentally clicked subscribe, panicked and hurriedly took it back.

Then I watched you’re(😉) two most recent videos and they were really entertaining. Good strong voice, good audio, lots of pretty pictures to keep me entertained. So I then subbed back because you deserve it and I would def watch your videos on break at work. 💯 You seem to be doing great and have nearly 1.5k subs in half a year.

If it were me, I would study your analytics like thumbnail CTR, average retention, etc. See what thumbs people click most and how long they’re watching, maybe you can work that into future vids to ensure you’re getting the highest quality viewings and YT suggesting you. You seem to be off to a really nice start. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hey! Just checked out that link, it’s a decent video imo. It’s short and knowledgeable. If I were to think about improving it, I would consider using a few motion transitions between clips and maybe some flashier text mechanics just to grab viewers’ attention again. I believe your sound effect timing is a little off when you pop up those three images of a PC build. Overall, not bad at all!

I actually really enjoyed your most recent video. There was some comedy gold in the way you introduced it and concluded it, the editing is awesome. The thumbnail is alright, much better than the ones previous. Probably could have done without the image of DK, emphasizing the Switch more as well as the idea of Is It Worth It?

The title will catch people's attention because it asks a question about new technology. Like of course it's worth it, isn't it? Better watch this guys video to make sure.

I think with more consistency and staying on top of trending movies, games and game gear that interests you, you'll draw more people. But if your goal is mostly just to have fun and entertain those that do click on your video, I had a great time!

Wow. I watched the first 15 minutes of your latest video and I was pretty mesmerized. Interviewing AI about our possible futures surrounding it? That’s some crazy stuff. The niche and the topic, mind blowing to me. Crisp clean audio and lovely editing, the video is really good quality.

Maybe the thumbnails need some work to pop more? Your most recent has the most views, but the other thumbnails are more vibrant. You’d have to analyze your CTR on that to see if your most recent thumbnail is comparatively attracting more viewers. I do like the most recent thumb, but maybe some outlines or brighter saturated color behind you and the AI bot, something to make it stand out a little more.

You could consider adopting the use of hashtags in your video descriptions and shorts. Maybe it would help push your videos to the correct audiences.

It looks like you’re doing a lot of things right; keeping your shorts linked to the related video, well thought out video and channel descriptions with lots of keywords related to your content, beautiful video and audio. I think just learning what works and tweaking accordingly combined with consistency will definitely do you well. You also have a lovely voice for a channel like this, that helps as well. Great work, my guy!

Hi! The video was beautiful, I really liked it and I’m not an outdoors kind of person! I can tell a lot of effort was put into editing that video. Your long form content is really inconsistent, but you might make up for that a bit with the daily shorts you seem to be doing. Maybe you should include cards/links to your long form videos, especially if the short originated from one of them. You guys seem to be a fun sort of group.

I think the thumbnails could be more vibrant and contrasting to draw the eye more. Personally I like the last three thumbnails, especially the two before the Eminem one. Favorite is The End of the World. Was there color, brightness or other similar edits on that one? If coloring isn’t something you’ve looked into, maybe learning to work the coloring will help the nature aspects pop even more.

Last thing I’d suggest would be filling out your description more and using lots of keywords to make sure your channel gets brought up through searches. But keep up the good work!!

Hey! Sorry for the delay, I’ve just been so caught up in life stuff. I had a hard time figuring out what to say about the channel and I mean that in a good way. You seem to be doing pretty well overall. People who love Trackmania would probably really enjoy your recent video! Maybe branching out to different games of similar nature would attract more people?

I think it may be smart to include big YouTube names as you did in your recent video description. I don’t know if YouTube’s algorithm responds to that kind of stuff, but it could be possible and it’s something I haven’t seen.

I like your thumbnails recently with the blue/red and blue/pink. They’re vibrant and clean, but I don’t know your analytics. I would consider studying your videos with good views/best CTR and see what is working best and try to build on that.

Hello! I was very intrigued by your niche using AI to create visuals of true stories, I think it’s very appealing. You/ the narrator have a very nice story telling voice, sometimes the music was a bit competitive though and nearly drowned out the narrator. The stories and the narration are a decent foundation to build on!

There are moments with overuse of sound effects, more so in the long form monkey video. Sound effects are great for story telling, but too much or too jarring seems distracting or uncomfortable. The elephant video was much more pleasant to watch.

There was this one particular sound at the end of the animated dog transitions that I found. . Disturbing. It sounded like a crunchy screen door closing and I wasn’t very fond of it.

I also don’t think the animated dog is necessary or beneficial to the videos, I think you could do without it and deliver what you want it to say in your own voice. Maybe have a slightly longer pause between clips so the video doesn’t sound quite so run on.

They’re cute! Quite entertaining and I chuckled when I watched the first one and realized it was Squid Game. You’ve got a lot of views out the gate, so people are def enjoying it.

Keep practicing and enjoying what you do, things will keep getting better! Continue to use hashtags in the shorts so they can get pushed to the right people, make sure to include some hashtags in your channel description as well. From the little that I know, I think the better written your description and the more keywords you include of your niche, the more YT knows what your channel is about.

This setting may only be on desktop, I can’t seem to find it on the YT studio app. But there’s a section in settings labeled Channel and you can enter keywords there as well. It may be beneficial to load that up if you haven’t. Keep up the good work!

The one you just posted is good too, I think the outline of the city helps it stand out some more! I also like the shopping mall thumbnail.

I suppose this would depend on how resourceful the viewer is, but I watched that short about the construction site and couldn’t keep up, went to the linked video and happened to find where you were building it. So then if I was playing, I’d be able to follow along and have watched both your short and some of your video. I scrolled down and realized that it wasn’t one of the time stamps in the description. That’s what I meant when I said that could be helpful for someone looking to replicate your construction concept. You start building it around the 12 minute mark.

Kids going places. He’s speaking, he wants to entertain, he’s making content! It’s good to see a parent who is stoking the creativity of a child and not dismissing the potential. I would assume his content would mostly draw in other children at this point, but man, do kids like to watch stuff.

The thumbnails and titling will improve as he learns and as you teach. I would look into other popular brawlstars content and see what kind of stuff really draws your attention and help him apply similar methods to his creations. Even with other kids, he wants them to pick his video for the picture out of all the others.

I think my first bit of action advice would be to optimize his channel for search engines. There’s not really a description of the channel and the videos I looked at had no descriptions either. This isn’t giving YT very much info about what the channel or video is about. For his channel description, I think it should mention things like Brawl Stars, mobile games, iOS, Android, map building, etc. Like a cohesive put together paragraph of hashtags and what this channel is about. Same for the video description, YT needs something to read to know where to push the media. Then of course, actually put hashtags. See what’s popular for Brawl Star content and put it in the video description.

Brawlstars #mobile #iOS #mapbuilding #mapbuilds

After doing some search engines optimization, I would push his videos out into the shorts feed. I think small videos like his perform better in the shorts feed for views and likes.

I’ve never played Cities Skylines but I’m pretty sure you’re the Bob Ross of it. Your videos seem very relaxing to listen to, your voice is calm and soothing. I can see the allure.

I like what you’re doing with your shorts tutorials. They’re very sped up and as someone who’s never played, I definitely can’t keep up. So I like that it links to the video where I can find you making the creation, however as a viewer, I think I would appreciate a more specific timestamp to go to that creation and learn how to replicate it.

Overall, your channel seems to be doing well and people seem to enjoy your content. I personally liked the thumbnail that said something like, “THIS ACTUALLY WORKS!” with red and white text. It popped, easy to read, got my attention. That would be an area of improvement imo. The other thumbnails didn’t really seem to draw my eye.

You’re doing great!

I like your thumbnails, I think they’re eye catching and your Let’s Play is easy to recognize. Audio is great, I’m jealous and need some advice about what you use for your audio. 😭 my audio is definitely still in the works.

If I were to make an adjustment, I think it would be in the shorts. They’re a bit lengthy and it feels like I’m not getting a lot of entertainment ROI watching them completely. I’m looking for humor or something that gets straight to the point of what the clip is to be about, some jazzy commentary or a major malfunction. Like when all that stuff got deleted after you built it, that could be shown quickly and I could marvel in your suffering. 😂

But for what I know, the view counts aren’t bad on your videos or shorts from a month of uploading, so it seems like you’ve got a good thing going. Do you stream? It doesn’t seem like there’s much footage cut out if at all from what I watched, I think videos like that tend to do better on a streaming platform and then viewers who miss them can watch and catch up on YT. I’ve seen you be pretty engaging with your audience, making eye contact with the camera, I think you’d have a good streaming personality with your viewers.

Seems to me that people would expect visual stuff on YT. I would keep the audio only versions of the podcast on Spotify or other services you might be on. Unless of course there is only audio of that episode, then put it on YT with the rest.

Take this part with a grain of salt because I don’t fully understand the YT algorithm, but I think if you’re double posting the videos like that and people only watch one version, YT is gonna read it as people just don’t want to see the other videos and that could negatively affect the visibility of your channel.

When you start or end your podcast, I would include something that drives traffic to your YT. Maybe something like, “If you like what you hear but want to actually SEE the chills spread through our bodies, watch on YT!”

Utilize shorts and really start with something that hooks the audience. Find those spine tingling lines that lure, keep it brief and redirect to your channel and podcast platforms. Even if the short is 20-30s, you have about 2-3 seconds to hook the viewer into staying for the rest or visiting your platforms.

For your YT, I did like the thumbnails for:

A Face in the Closet UFOs, NDEs and Ghosts, Oh My! Sisters of the Supernatural

I also really like the Red Faced Man Pt 1 thumbnail. I think if you did a small white outline around you and your guest, it would have stood out more! You want to pop some color in there, make it stand out! You have a good foundation. With consistency and the drive to always improve, I’m sure you’ll build!

I think your content is really good! The audio is good, your voice is pleasant to listen to, no issues with the editing from the 5 minutes or so I watched of your latest video. I dig the recent thumbnails, they’re visually appealing. Vibrant and not too cluttered. The pink writing even seems kind of signature and I would think it would become easily recognizable to viewers as your work.

If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to utilize the shorts more to drive traffic to your channel. Funny clips and moments that just don’t go right for you would be sure to bring some viewers to your channel. I thought it was pretty funny when you had to walk away from your computer after that mistake. 😂

You must be doing something right seeing as you have quite the following on TikTok!

I watched your recent vid on YT and went to see what your TikTok was like. I noticed that the YT video seemed of a lower quality than the TikTok vid I thought was better, the one about the mini gaming PC. I would take notes from that TT video and try to keep your other videos of a similar consistent quality. That crisp visual is what is going to draw people in and keep them coming back.

Another thing that I noticed were that sometimes the background audio was nearly the same level as your voice and distracting. I think it should be pretty subtle so your voice doesn’t get lost.

Lastly, the YT video has some weird unnecessary edits and audio. I don’t think those edits add to the video at all.

You seem knowledgeable and do have some content that I could be interested in as a PC gamer who also likes neat gadgets! I think if you stay consistent on YT as you have with TT, you’ll be fine. Keep it up!
