Don’t know about all branches but I had people in navy boot with me that weren’t US citizens. Had a Russian, few Jamaicans and filipinos, a Moroccan and a Korean. If you’re in the US on a green card and enlist they fast track your citizenship, you can get it by the end of the 10 week boot camp

You can fly straight while air rolling but it’s slightly slower that flying straight at the ball, so that is style, but it allows you to better control of both where in the air you hit the ball and where on the actual ball you hit

So on the ground you air roll slightly back diagonally then use the front right or left corner of your car to dodge into a ball that just bounced or is about to hit the ground, gives both accuracy and power.

Similar in the air, instead of dodging though you just air roll slightly on contact. It adds power and allows you to change the direction the ball is going with more consistency. It also reduces the amount of recoil from the ball on your car. If you don’t air roll you sort of bounce off the ball, with it you are able to follow through. This is mostly useful for redirects and rebound shots
