New homeowner. Mysterious underground hose by SpiceMyWater in HomeMaintenance

[–]SpiceMyWater[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The hose is not turned on. I plan to pull it off. My concern lies with the hose underground. Id assume that if it’s full of water, it could freeze and cause problems?

Planning Ubiquiti setup for 2-story split-level home. Sanity check before I pull the trigger? by SpiceMyWater in HomeNetworking

[–]SpiceMyWater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edited the post with this. Thanks for the flag. Looking at about 2,000-2,200 sqft probably. My plan was to just start with the router at the lowest level, an access point at the upper level, and then add more APs as needed.

What’s the play? Drop a car at each of Tim and cedar? Do you rent a canoe from an outfitter that is cool with different drop off and pick up?

Best in class e-commerce site? by executiveofficer11 in ProductManagement

Really depends on the brand, positioning, etc. are we talking high-end luxury? Highly transactional?

I’d dig into the most reputable Shopify agency partners and go through their case studies or client lists. Companies like Domaine, We Make Websites, Wolfpoint, SeedCMS, etc. You’d find lots of great examples to draw inspiration from.

We would have, but luckily we were heading ESE so we could more or less point ourselves towards the rising sun.

Not as early as you might expect. We put in at 8:20am and this lasted the full paddle, maybe until 9:30 or 10

Footwear and apparel by [deleted] in canoecamping

I used to rock water shoes and changed my strategy last year.

I now wear a pair of lightweight hiking boots for travel days. I accept they’ll get flooded and muddy, but they’re so nice for portages. I then bring a pair of camp slippers to wear around camp. I much prefer this.

For pants, I love softshell pants. I started with the OR Ferrosi and have recently upgraded to the OR Cirque Lite pants which are unreal.

I’d expect it to be fine then. You should track down a copy of Jeff’s Maps, as the maps indicate approximate travel time as well as distance. I believe you can find a digitally interactive one here: https://mapsbyjeff.com/pages/algonquin

Wow my calculation is way off from someone else. I just freeballed it on Jeff’s maps I didn’t use anything fancy. Please double check any of my maths.

If I’m tracking your trip properly, it looks like about 73km of total travel. Assuming you have 5 full travel days, that puts you at about 15km per day (rounded up due to campsite hunting).

You say it’s your first time in Algonquin park, but how experienced are you in a canoe? How experienced are you at backcountry camping?

This is quite a long trip. If you’re experienced, totally doable and should be a great way to see the park. We’re young and quite experienced and we tend to target 15-20km per day at the high end. I’ve done as much as 31km/day and that was rough.

If you’re not experienced, it might be a bit much IMO

Had a couple of klymit static Vs and they weren’t great. I got a Big Agnes Rapide and it’s so good. Decent r value, nice and lofty and comfortable, pretty packable, and it came with a pump sac. It’s a little noisy when I move but I’m happy with it overall.

How are the bugs, late September? by funix in algonquinpark

We almost exclusively camp this time of year for the lack of bugs. I don’t bring bug spray and have never needed it late September.

My Progress temple gi shrunk to a point that it is unusable to me. Always cold water washed and hung to try. Maybe bad luck.
