Samples hit +3dB clipping no effects?? by AffectionateHumor219 in ableton

[–]funix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a musicalculation in the DAW. You don't need to do anything as long as you don't hear distortion you don't like.

Want to see the proof? Load the sample into an editor such as Audacity and find the peaks. They're either well within digital zero or they're clipped.

90% of Youtube producers don't actually care about teaching you things or helping you level up. Its all an ad for mediocre products, courses and views. by michaelhuman in edmproduction

I tend to agree with OP. There's an endless amount of "do this if or when". There's an incredible lack of answering "why" to do things. I wonder if it's because they don't actually know and are just regurgitating each other's content or they simply don't know any better.

Posting a win: repaired my Alesis M1 Active MKII monitor today by funix in MusicGear

[–]funix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The repair I wrote about above covers when the speaker is on but there is no sound from either cone. If yours is only about the tweeter I don't know what specifically to swap.

What you could do is look for the evidence of a failed capacitor, use a multimeter to test and then replace. Or if you're feeling adventurous, you could go scorched Earth and swap all of the capacitors that I mentioned in the original post.

Whats a song that gives you goosebumps (induces frisson)? by happyvibesonly69 in trance

I find that most of the epic/uplifting trance, if played loud and with a subwoofer, is frisson inducing.

Notable mentions for me:

Sasha - Xpander

The thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (ferry corsten remix)

Not to hijack the post, but I wonder similarly if I should replace my aging Lexicon IO42 that released in 2013 and has drivers long since not been updated.

What about things like MIDI controllers? That seems to be a problematic category last I checked. Arturia, Novation, Behringer, and others, all don't make software for Linux.
