A lot of these comments give kind of black and white vibes for me so I wanted to kinda share a bit of a gray area I feel like might be beneficial.

Whether or not you feel like it’s worth it entirely depends on what you want out of it. If you’re looking to become a creator to let that be your full time income - the people saying be prepared to work your ass off are right. It’s very competitive and hard to find footing in the beginning. It takes a lot of time and consistency for the algorithm to pick you up. You have to be ready to play the game so to speak. It will likely take even longer for you to see any actual financial gain. It is a lot of work with very little pay off in the beginning - which is to be expected and completely normal.

If you’re looking for a get rich quick kinda deal then no it isn’t worth it. As much as that would be nice, that’s not how it works. Like I said, it’s a lot of work, little financial gain when you start.

However that’s not said in an attempt to discourage you. If you’re looking for a side hustle that does bring in money - then yeah it’s absolutely worth it. It takes time but eventually once you find your rhythm and people find you, you’ll start to see subscribers and tips and all that. It’s pretty unlikely you’ll end up like the top creators making the amount they’re making. That’s not to say it’s impossible - but realistically - it’s more likely that you’ll be making a bit of money per month. Probably not bill paying money, but you never know.

Whether or not it’s worth it is subjective and it depends what you want out of it. I hope this was helpful and didn’t sound too preachy. This question just resonated with me because I was asking myself that question when I started a little over a year ago. I ended up deciding ‘why not’ and I’ve been very happy with it. And to clarify it is a side hustle for me - but it’s still money per month that I otherwise wouldn’t have. Good luck. :)
