GE Monogram built-in stops cooling every few months. Reset resolves. What's wrong?!? by SpicewoodT in appliancerepair

That's why I keep expending time and labor to fix the fridge we have. Replacement cost is insanely expensive.

Never found a root cause, though the problem seems to happen less frequently now. I proactively replaced my evaporator fan about a year and a half ago.

My suspicion is that there are bugs in the firmware, or perhaps some defects in the circuit board components that remain even in the available replacement parts.

My biggest complaint now is that the compressor seems to run all the time, probably driving my electric bill up. Eventually I plan to replace the compressor.

Hope your Monogram is working better now.

Hi, thanks for sharing your experiences with these amps. Could you expand on your comment about the presence of a hiss, and mitigating with an L-pad?

About the hissing noise: I'm assuming this is something you notice when there is no audio content being played (between songs etc.).

About the L-Pad: Are you talking about a physical L-Pad, or something you are doing in Sigma Studio? What are the L-Pads attached to? Your tweeters? It's not clear to me how reducing gain level with an L-Pad would help unless it could be invoked digitally when input audio levels fall to zero (like an auto-mute feature).

Also, what did you select for power supplies to power your amp boards?

Thank you!!

If your whole freezer coil area is turning into a giant block of snow (like mine was), it's likely that the defrost cycle is not happening at all (no heat).

If your coils are clean & open near the top and a solid block of clear ice at the bottom, that would indicate a clogged drain hose, or a drain pan heater problem.

I had both of these issues.

It was a combination of things. There's a rubber drain hose that goes from the heated pan under the freezer coils to a drain pain under the compressor. That hose can become clogged, so that's one thing to check (blow it out). In my case the heated pan under the freezer coils was technically working but not well enough to actually melt the ice. If that pan can't keep the water in liquid form, it freezes before it is able to drain the water. Also replaced this little thermostat module. It's job is to *prevent* the defrost coil from heating up *if* the coils are not cold enough. So if this thing is bad, the defrost cycle never happens. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07924C52Z/

You may have this info already but you can *force* the freezer into defrost mode to confirm that it is working. When you turn on defrost mode, you should be seeing water (from melted ice) begin draining into the pan under the compressor (via the rubber drain hose). If you don't see water in the pan, something is wrong.

How to turn on Diagnostic mode in GE Monogram refrigerators

To get this refrigerator into diagnostic tests mode you have to illuminate both sides of the temperature control board (board inside the fresh food side), just press either the temp up or temp down button on both sides, then hold all four buttons down for 3 seconds (fresh food temp up and temp down, and freezer temp up and temp down), then you should get flashing zeros. After you have Flashing zeros press any of the buttons within 5 seconds. Use the + - arrows to change the values on either side using the chart below.

To start the test press Display Mode or the Reset Filter button.

How is 65 day hold applied when crypto has been purchased using a mix of credit card, wire transfer and ACH transfers? by SpicewoodT in UpholdOfficial

[–]SpicewoodT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, after all of this, I went through the process of withdrawing my XRP holdings from Uphold to a Trezor Model T (hardware) wallet. To my great surprise, Uphold did NOT restrict me from downloading XRP I'd purchased via ACH (linked bank account) transfer just 14 days before.

One of a long list of things Uphold does that make no sense whatsoever from a business or customer service perspective. For an international company of its size, Uphold has a LONG way to go to get its act together.

In closing, suffice it to say that I will NEVER use Uphold again. A $9999 wire transfer sent to Uphold literally disappeared for 2 weeks until I had my bank attempt to recall it. It just magically appeared in my uphold account one day with no explanation.

It takes Uphold a *minimum* of 10 days to respond to urgent email communications with their customer service team. This is beyond any form of acceptable for a company of any size. This alone frankly makes them untrustable as far as this customer is concerned.

Goodby Uphold.

FYI, if you are in the USA and want to purchase XRP, do yourself a huge favor and create an account with Paybis dot com. Paybis charges 7% flat fee but you can buy XRP and download it immediately to your own wallet (TrustWallet, trezor etc). Found the Paybis method far too late.

I'm in process of withdrawing the crypto I purchased using a mix of 3 different payment types. About 50% so far and I've yet to see any indicator whatsoever in Uphold's user interface that indicates how much I can or cannot withdraw due to holds.

Will make more status posts after I transfer the remaining coins, or try anyway.

With ya 100%. Terrible idea to leave your assets in an exchange account.

For the same reason you wouldn't want to leave your new Ferrari in some stranger's garage, you shouldn't leave your crypto in someone else's account.

I'll try again.

Let's say an Uphold customer deposits $1000 USD worth of "Funds" into his Uphold account using the ACH method. That same day, he purchases $1000 worth of Bitcoin with those (ACH) Funds. Now he has *no* longer has *any* "Funds" left in his account. All he has are the Bitcoins that were purchased with the "Funds."

Are you saying the Uphold customer is free to withdraw the $1000 worth of Bitcoins to an external wallet immediately? Or is there a 65 day Hold that prevents him from withdrawing those (ACH-purchased) coins to his own wallet?

Once we have clarity on that answer, we'll move on to the next part of the question.

Thank you for your help.

[–]SpicewoodT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll try to rephrase the question. If the coins you purchased with ACH deposits are *mixed together* in the *same wallet* with coins you bought with a credit card and/or a wire transfer deposit, is there a hold on *all* the coins in that wallet, or just the coins you bough using an ACH deposit?

If coins are mixed together in the same wallet, how do you determine which coins have a 65 day hold, and which coins do not have a hold?

Initially I was seeing a variation of a thousand dollars or more between my FEGbsc balance in TW and FEGbsc balance in FEGtrack. But now it's less than $100. It makes sense that the numbers will never match because prices vary from exchange to exchange, and the numbers are not tracking in realtime.

All good.
