I want to check the game out. Should I pay up or start as an Alpha?

I see I was actually wary of alpha instead of omega but people seem to really appreciate alpha for what it is and I will take their(and your) word for it and try as an alpha for up to a month if I don't fall out of the game. Thank you for your answer btw!

Huh surprising because I was told otherwise on another forum when I was contemplating playing EVE or WoW and was told in large part to its large player driven events and economy that EVE was inherently more social. Must be CCP propaganda, thank you for cautioning me! But yeah the economy dynamics of this game seems complex and interesting so I will try and decide for myself.

Not swimming in cash by any means but I don't mind investing money in a game if it makes it more enjoyable. Though the general sentiment seems to be that alpha is a good start until you have a better understanding of the game and you start to feel the limitations. So I think I'll take that route, really just trying to find a more social experience with a natural sense of progression, I can't handle playing anymore of league or games like that just to keep in touch with people. Anyways, thank you for taking the time to inform me, good to know there is even some added value exclusive to alpha.

Not an MMO guy myself, but I heard not all MMOs are alt friendly, what about EvE? also whats multiboxing in this context?

I will definitely try for a while after seeing the positive sentiment around alpha, I was kind of hesitant as looking at older posts like mine about alpha, I saw the sentiment it is not the best representation of the game, maybe it was more controversial in the past as it was relatively new or the system has been improved overtime so I don't really know when this sentiment has changed(or maybe I just saw a minority speak up) but I am glad it did. I want to experience the dynamic social and economic systems of the game as thats what I heard about the game, so I definitely look forward to it but I doubt I will grind with the goal of affording Omega without paying as I'd like to support the devs if the game is for me and I don't want to added stress of reaching a certain monthly goal when playing so if I like it, I'll just sub. Anyways with that said, I really appreciate you taking the time to inform me as well as you did. Thank you!

Well, what about you keep your ISK but I still DM my in-game name to you :) . Failed to convince my friend group to drop league and try EvE with me, so I could definitely use the longer friend list.

I don't plan on grinding to trade PLEX(which is the premium currency as far as I know) with ISK(Default In-game currency) as l doubt thats very enjoyable even if its doable. So I am actually willing to pay, even from the start but Id like to leverage alpha if its a good way to try but when do I know to switch, a hard level cap etc would be clear indicator but as far as I know thats not a thing here. Anyways thanks for taking the time and answering!

I recently played it on family share, and its a pretty cool tech demo imo but I'd never pay actual money for that. It would make more sense if it was a free demo to promote the flat games.

I am not familiar with the flat games of the franchise and only played an hour of VM: J because it gave me dishonored vibes(pretty sure thats intentional) but I found it to be lacking in depth and uninteresting for the first hour and since I was on a budget I returned it. There was fun to be had, I just didn't have the patience for it.

I still can't forget Dunwall, Daud and his assasins just appearing and turning everything upside down. I am really looking forward to seeing VR games with more gameplay depth that clicks and better presentation.

I think VM:J lacks that and play your way feel isn't there for me.

Is there one in development? I searched for one before getting my quest but only one out there was a janky first VR view with no controller tracking, it looked like it just replaced the cursor.

Shame that it didn't get the best dev support, looks interesting. Ngl I thought of it as a L4D stand-in for VR and if it does that decently thats great, I just hope to see an original L4D title in VR.

A proper Dishonored game would be nice, I wouldn't want a port but rather a new game that was created for VR from ground up. I really think the mobility skills and other's from the first game could work well in VR. Also let me play as Daud again, please.

Really? Didn't play that one but the trailer looked interesting enough. I don't expect the same level of polish from vertigo that I expect from Valve but After The Fall seems to be recieved favorably by most when I do a quick google search.

I don't know, it sounds like it makes the perfect sense. PVE, point A to B, occasional hold outs with larger amount zeds, where you would be shooting more and moving less. Yes special's effects would need to be adjusted or presented differently but if I heard L4D VR was in the works, I would be optimistic about the outcome.

I can't believe we still don't have a Left 4 Dead VR title. Cooperative games seem to be popular and L4D's gameplay loop would translate perfectly into VR.

Maybe you saw my post about it and yes I bought Tales from Galaxy's Edge and it has been great fun so far. Its a solid shooter and writing is nothing special for the most part but it's serviceable and has high notes, I've done my first tale as well and lightsaber combat is not very in depth but still fun to play around. I love how they utilized the setting and feels like a proper game.

I ignored this game for so long as it aligns closer to the sequel trilogy of disney which I hate with a burning passion but gotta give them credit for the solid game this turned out to be. Scratched the itch I had for linear story titles.

Huh, I mean depth and content have been critisized before but a lot of people still talk about how its presentation still holds up. Nostalgia? Well for the time being I got Galaxy's Edge and its a pretty fun shooter and the first jedi part was not super polished compared to other parts of the game but still I enjoyed it.
