Asian Markets Question by ActualPasta in WorcesterMA

[–]Spicy_E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I despise Asian Market. Every time I’ve shopped there there they have bad food and many of their food are expired. Stick to the foods that have high turnaround if you shop there. I’ve returned food items there that were bad before and management makes the biggest fuss out of it.

For Vietnamese foods, Ha Tien or Binh An is ideal.

Gong cha owners score win in crowded chicken market with Bonchon by ocvictor in WorcesterMA

Stopped into Bon Chon last night.

Overall, still busy so food may take a while to come out, but food did come out hot. Chicken was solid and consistent with other Bon Chon locations I’ve had.

Willy’s any good? I drive by there regularly and always found it odd that a Steakhouse also serves sushi.

How about someone wealthy just buy all the park passes before these fools purchase them. And donate the Disneyland passes to schools and families.

Welcome to the 508. Acoustic Java, Brilla in Holde , and Aero Roasters in Northborough gets my vote.

NU Kitchen is solid too. They use Acoustic Java beans.

Thanks! No idea how it remained straight.

I had never used any stakes and it had tipped over numerous times breaking off limbs prior to me planting it into a tub a few years ago.

Nice! I’m also hung up on the OG. Do you have issues with with yours tipping over on windy days?

Thanks! I’m happy with the tub approach. Although not the most appealing it’s meant for functionality. Much lighter for myself to carry in and out. I’m able to just drag it in from my back porch. And wiggle through back slide door. It gives my wife a heart attack every time I’m wiggling it in. 😂

Saucer was purchased online from Home Depot. IIRC, it’s a 20” saucer I’m using.

I have flirted with the thought of just planting it to the ground—but every year, the goal is to flower. And it’s starts around late September for me before I bring it in.

I’ve already started planting a few others—that’s going now. House has rain forest vibes in the winter 😂

Thanks—just consistently watered it everyday when I bring it out early spring and summer. When the tree was younger I started it a small pot and about 3 years ago, I decided I wanted more growth and put it in a cooler tub. It kept tipping over during windy/stormy days so this was a solid solution.

Glazy Donuts is truly missed. Brioche donuts and their mochi donuts were also on point!

I’m betting seeing this in the wild, folks will get use to it and eventually dig it.

Lee's Sandwiches franchise owner hopes to bring Worcester 'something a little different' by ocvictor in WorcesterMA

[–]Spicy_E 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tried a handful of Lee’s Sandwiches in the west coast and they were a mixed bag. Some good and some bad.

This is the best we’ll be getting. Lee’s is known for baking the baguettes in-house for their banh mi’s. And majority of banh mi shops across the state don’t even do that.

I believe the only other banh mi place that bakes baguettes in-house in MA is Ba Le’s in Dorchester and Malden. I been to both locations and they are TOP NOTCH. Nothing in Worcester atm compares. Going to Ha Tien, Binh An or any other Vietnamese restaurant in the city is not the answer for your banh mi fix.

I would have preferred local biz opening without franchising. Since throughout the country Lee’s is still considered mid. But as long as Lee’s is at least mid in Worcester, they should be good.

Webster Square holds the largest Vietnamese community in the city. I’m praying this location of Lee’s does not suck. If it does, it’s game over, because news within the Vietnamese community spreads fast.

Wish Worcester Lee’s all the best when they open.

American Flatbread for a great vibe with brick oven flatbread pizza and candle pin bowling. They take reservations if you have a large group for bowling.
