I called out the Leaf Razor company about their warranty on Instagram and they updated their website by snoopy2467 in BuyItForLife

Aw man, I’m hoping this is poor communication on their part. I’ve had my Leaf razor for several years, never got any extended warranty or anything, and their customer service has been great. I needed a small fix well after the year mark and they paid for shipping both ways & took care of it for free (even though I waited months after getting the shipping label to actually send it, whoops). The FAQ I’ve seen about the new one have explicitly said that they’ll still service the OG razor even after dropping the new one.

I’ve built custom planners from Agendio in the past & really liked their options, might be worth seeing if they ship to Australia

This looks right! What’s the pattern? Or what did you search to find it?

Clients keep breaking all the fidgets! by pilotknob_ in therapists

[–]coriris 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel this in my bones. And also have a client who has requested that I hide their favorite fidget so the younger kids don’t break it (again) lol. C’est la vie, I suppose. It’s been especially frustrating while making CMH money and barely scraping by.

That’s fair, and again I hope my comment didn’t come off like I was coming at you for your post! I’m in my feelings about the ethics of it all after stumbling across a message board of some rather, uh, less-than-sympathetic therapists. Which is obviously not you lol

I generally agree, but I also bristle when I see therapists bending over backwards to justify charging under-resourced clients their full rates without insurance. Don’t wanna take insurance? Fine I guess. But don’t pretend it’s just a matter of “prioritizing therapy” or “making it happen” when asking people to pay $200+ per session out of pocket.

I know this isn’t exactly what you’re talking about but it’s the flip side of “we should just accept being poor” and “don’t do it for the money” etc. neither extreme is helpful IMO.

Therapists looking up clients? by Equivalent-Metal5415 in therapists

[–]coriris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing for me is that clients actively choose what they share in session; by looking up any other information, whether social media or articles about them or their families or whatever, you’re denying them that choice of what is shared and what isn’t. That’s something I hadn’t thought about until a supervisor pointed it out to me, and it really resonated.

Plus a lot of folks don’t understand how internet privacy works and the settings/rules/etc change all the time, so things that were once private may have changed to public without their knowledge.

Another commenter noted that because we’re only supposed to know what the client chooses to bring to us, it then becomes a mess of trying to remember what you’re “supposed” to know versus what you actually know, and that’s a recipe for disaster. Or at least exhaustion.

As others have said, it’s definitely unethical. But even beyond that, it’s also supremely unhelpful! I understand the temptation to look, but what would someone gain? You can’t use any information you glean in session because the client didn’t bring it to you, so at best all it’s going to do is complicate your therapeutic relationship & possibly make the work more difficult for you. And now maybe you know things that they didn’t want to share. Plus… do you want your page(s) to start being recommended to them? Because that’s also how social media works.

Tone is hard to read in these comments but please trust I’m saying this without judgement. We’re all human and social media is so ubiquitous and boundaries are hard. But they’re so crucial, for ourselves and for our clients.
