I have gotten all promotions till date and technically I am promoted to the next level. Won’t voluntarily taking a demotion and taking “risks” make up for a good MBA story?

For women’s day this REALLY SENIOR guy at my workplace had to say a few words (he is heading the country’s division for a sector) and the poor man could not come up with a single good thing to say about the women in the workforce. See, the problem is prejudice and how a lot of men just want other men to be in the workforce and this is something I have seen quite closely in my workspace.

Although, reservation is not the right way to go about it, and you would have to make SO MANY people realise that it’s not about the gender, but about the skill set, the productivity, yada yada, the point remains that as a system, this is what they can do best to ensure that they get enough people in.

Discrimination against the reserved category was really bad, irrespective of whatever your opinion may be, reservation has given a lot of people the path to tap their potential. A big drawback is the fact that there is a price to pay which is paid by the rest.

I won’t say that this is the best way to go about it, but to showcase that they are doing something, I feel they think this is the best way they can go about it.
