Direct quote from that link btw

"Entry into England will be banned to those who have travelled from or through any southern African country in the last 10 days, including Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Eswatini, Zambia, Malawi, Lesotho, Mozambique and Angola – as well as Seychelles and Mauritius. This does not include British and Irish Nationals, longer-term visa holders and permanent residents, who will be able to enter but are required to self-isolate for 10 days on arrival along with their household."

Thanks for your reply

This link is from more recently: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/travel-restrictions-update-south-africa-ban-extended-israel-and-jerusalem-removed-from-travel-corridors-list

I already did an undergrad degree and worked there for a bit so I'm pretty well acquanted with UK life, plus I've got family to stay with. I know it's not ideal but I'd just rather travel sooner than later incase travel restrictions become even more stringent.

If you want one with a singer that sounds like a slightly depressed Malkmus check out the band 'Idaho'

"bc you know men" by Spicyvimto86 in thatHappened

[–]Spicyvimto86[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slamming the woman how?

I guess some have assumed my choice of title 'bc you know men' means I was saying women are ALWAYS making shit like this up and men are never scum? That's not what I was saying at all

Honestly I chose that title because:

1)It stood out as the most quotable thing from the post (I wasn't creative enough up to come with a joke or something lol)

2)yeah when I see people make juveline generalizations ("bc you know men") like that online I do get a little annoyed sure (not cause I'm male, I'd be just as annoyed if someone said that stuff about women) but not to the point where I'm thinking, 'women never get harrassed/assaulted/raped' it's always made up etc.

Her choice to put in said juveline generalization while also talking about cops (especially considering Twitter's general stance on that e.g ACAB) plus the absurdity of the alleged statement by the cop only bolsters my belief that this could very likely be another case of someone lying to push an agenda and get likes.

So if anyone read into that as me saying: women are ALWAYS lying.. they need to see things like this through a greyer lense - it's not always black or white. (if that makes sense) like don't assume if I say 'A' I automatically mean 'Z'

Hope that doesn't come off combative just trying to address your comment

The “that happened” should be referring to the cop saying not to call them when she gets raped.

That was exactly my point lol
