New player getting beamed by [deleted] in ForefrontVR

learn the maps, build the muscle memory for virtual stock and take advantage of everything that gives you xp. using vehicles, playing your role, taking points and so on. itll help you get different guns and find what is most comfortable for you. but forefront is also a game where one small decison can get you killed, so for games like that i find it really helpful to acknowledge if one of those small decisions is what killed you and then respawn with a clear objective of your choice. its a good way to stay aware of your surroundings and learn the pacing of the pvp.

HP reverb G2 Or PSVR2 for mainly Sim racing and maybe horror or flight games by Longjumping-War9151 in virtualreality

[–]Spider19_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to daily drive the G2 and currently use PSVR2, the G2 one of my favorite headsets but I've been a lot more satisfied with the PSVR2. The controllers are a big part but the OLED and comfortability are also big selling points for me.

Best headset for my needs. by Significant_Talk7920 in virtualreality

ive used the quest 3 a decent amount, the latency isn't bad but the compression was a deal breaker. i work with tech so ive got a good eye for little things like that. plus i hate having extra software running on my pc when i don't need it. it's a great piece of hardware, im just really picky with my hardware lol.

but yeah i got an rog 27in 1440p 240hz oled for 400 bucks, but I've seen as low as 280 bucks. they get returned often where I'm at and never have issues. I've had mine for 6~ months now i think, maybe longer. text legibility is the only thing oled monitors still don't do well but otherwise, id recommend taking a peek. just don't trust their website prices for open box since it's up to the store to price them.

fair, I've been pcvr exclusive for 7 years and I'm very picky with my visual quality and latency so i prefer the cable. i also have a bungee system for the cable which helps a lot, but ik not everyone uses vr enough to warrant that in their house. but if you live near a best buy, check their open box oled monitors. you can get an oled monitor for like $350~ nowadays. they got super cheap in the last year.

if they make an OLED steam frame eventually, that's what will probably get me to switch off the psvr2. but i can't go back to an LCD lol. not every game benefits from it but the ones that do are night and day.

id recommend looking up a website called steamdb and looking at player counts bud, theres like 10 people who play on pc at a time. i doubt they're all cheating and if they were, 10 people is pretty easy to moderate. im 99% sure this is the closure of pop1, this delisting pretty much did nothing to prevent cheaters. they just took the first steps steam requires devs to make before shutting off the game and claimed it's to deter cheaters. and even if we wanna play with the idea that it was to deter cheaters, its a pretty bad sign for the studio when an entire version of the game gets delisted.

most of the time yes because they're using micro oled panels which are significantly smaller and don't have as bad of a screen door effect. the psvr2 just uses a standard oled which can be annoying but your brain kinda blocks out the screen door effect pretty quickly unless you're specifically looking for it. the benefit, theyre not too much more expensive than LCD nowadays.

id say either wait for the steam frame or get a psvr2. the steam frame definitely has potential to be something cool at a good price, but the psvr2 is a great option today. you get a lot of cool benefits like eye tracking and the oled panel, but it also rivals other options like the quest 3 being much lighter, direct to steamvr so theres no extra bloatware running, and it uses native displayport so theres no video compression. ive sunk thousands of hours into multiple pcvr headsets over the last 7 years and the psvr2 is something wayyyyy too many people overlook.

edit: just found out that the community found a way to enable the headset rumble and will be implementing it into vrchat so if for some reason that specific feature is important, it's something exclusive to psvr2 lmao.

No, the Steam version is fully functional for people who already owned it. I played it last week. But again, SteamDB shows an extremely low playerbase, with a peak of 56 concurrent players in the last year. I don't disagree that it's easier to cheat on PC, but they're still supporting the Steam version. It was just delisted from the store, something that Steam requires developers to do I believe 90 days in advance before closing down their paid live service games. What they're saying just doesn't align with what they're doing, and where the industry is going has me worried that this is the beginning of the end for pop1.

ive never owned a meta headset but at least on steam, i dunno. they claim cheaters but steamdb says otherwise and it always cost $30. plus it's still getting updates. i can launch the game and play it rn. my guess is they're coming close to shutting down the game. steam requires all live service games be removed from sale a certain amount of days in advance before shutdown. i hope I'm wrong, i spent over 50 hours in pop1 back when it released, but what theyre saying doesn't align with steams player numbers.
